My family and I love the Shakespeare Tavern. We have been going for years. They do an excellent job with every play and the intimate setting makes you feel part of the action. The pub menu is seasonal and delicious and they have a wide selection of drinks both alcoholic and non. You will not be disappointed.

I have gone to the Shakespeare Tavern for about 10 different plays (recently Hamlet), and I always have a good time. I agree with previous reviews that the food is not great (but I'm sure the food in the Elizabethan age wasn't either), but it isn't very expensive, so you get what you pay for. I like the Apple Crisp... More

We went this past weekend for 2 plays - Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are dead. Both were well presented and acted. Hamlet was amazing (I cried) and R&G was good, but not really my thing. The cast and crew here seem very friendly. Definitely not something I usually see of Shakespearean actors. We saw Romeo and Juliet here as... More

I took my wife of 33 years for a "date" and we really enjoyed this place. The food is good and the atmosphere and entertainment is really what we came for. If you live in the Atlanta area, or are visiting, this is one place you want to come and visit for an evening of fun filled memories!

We went to see Romeo and Juliet for Valentine's Day with another couple and had a great time. The food isn't great, but it more than meets expectations (you go through a cafeteria-type line). The performance was top notch and very enjoyable. The beer is cold. It was great.

Saw "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead" last night and really enjoyed it. The setting is very nice and the play was done very nicely, with a bit of extra humor thrown in that worked quite well. We didn't have dinner, but the menu looked good and it seemed that most people were enjoying both dinner and also dessert during the... More

A fine night out. Food is OK, service is OK, play was above amateur theater, but not Broadway. Pick the balcony seat if you can't - not quite as comfortable, but a better view of the play.

Halarious and also some dark moments, The actors drew you into each scene with humor and some very halarious moments. I enjoyed it very much as did everyone in our party. The Acting was superb as usual, This was my fifth trip and as usual it was fun. Keep up the excellent work. One note, I had the Shepards Pie... More

As usual with the local color type playhouses, the experience was wonderful. They did an excellent job with limited resources and even the kids enjoyed themselves.

Downtown and a bit out of the way, the entrance is a bit deceiving. Once inside you enter an intimate theater where no one is far from the stage. Food is served which can be slightly distracting during the show, but also makes for a more informal atmosphere. I've lived in Atlanta many years and this was my first visit... More
