We did the half day hike. This gets you on the glacier for 1 1/5 hours which was enough to experience this great big ice mass. Our Irish guide was great. It rained the whole time, but the good equipment (lovely fitting boots e.g.) made it a great and comfortable morning.

This was an amazing experience and my first time both in a helicopter and on a glacier. We lucked out with amazing weather. That is the one risk as they will cancel the tour if the weather is bad. However they have good refund policies if that does happen, but you do take a gamble when booking that it might... More

Not a description I use very often but truly appropriate to our Nimble Fox day on Fox Glacier. The warm up climb up the side of the valley had us sweating profusely and wondering why we'd brought all our cold weather gear but it was needed when we reached the top of the glacier. The tour company provide everything you... More

We chose to do the 8 hour nimble fox hike. It was a safe well paced day. The guide was very informative and seemed very enthusiastic. With a small group we were able to see lots of different glacier features with plenty of time for photos. You also want to fill up your water bottle with glacier water – it... More

I thought we would be taken to the top of the mountain. Was a little disappointed when we landed in the valley. But we had a good time, was worth money spent. (Plus free entry to hot spring) Our booking was at 1150am & we were half hour early. They provided the gear, all you need to do is to... More

Although booked months before the trip, the weather that day was not good in the morning so we needed to come back later. Than again the weather was bad, so later again. They offered us a walk/climb to the base, but that dit not appeal to us. We did the walk ourselves (to the base) only and saw the small... More

Do yourselves a favour and spend the extra $50 and do the full day hike. for the first half i was wondering why i was there and why i had spent as much money as i did. in this time only bothered taking about 5 photos and was a bit grumpy about how overrated it was. after a lunch stop... More

I struggle to understand people's complaints based on the weather patterns of the glacier. The g hides need to ensure safety comes first. We had our helihike cancelled on day one but we understood why. The weather was terrible, no fault of the guides or company. If you book the helihike be prepared for cancellations. It's that simple. The company... More

Amazing trip, we did the Fox trot walk. My girlfriend who, in her own words, is "super unfit", easily managed this. The guides were really friendly and all the outdoor gear needed was supplied. Perfect trip, must do in Fox glacier.

We took the half day Fox trot trip which accepted children from 7yrs. They kitted us out with crampons (that fitted my small 7yr olds feet too) and lent rucksacks, raincoats, boots and woolly socks too if needed. We took the short bus ride to the car park and split into two groups with 3 guides. The walk is steep... More
