$1 if you walk in $5 per car to park up there. It's an easy walk but ALL up hill and there are stairs at the end. Take water and sunscreen. There is no shelter as you walk up so try to go earlier in the day when it's not as scorching.

This is a very popular choice for most visitors. You can get there by the No.23 bus from Kuhio Ave, Waikiki for $2.50. We walked back which took about 30mins I think, but it's a lot to walk there and back. Very interesting park and walk, very steep in places and on a hot day it's like the desert so make...

Fantastic walk, a must for anyone who loves a challenge. Lots of steps. Great views across the island.
The hike is pretty easy if you are in decent shape, no problem if you are very active. The views at the top are excellent and you can get plenty of great photos! I will hike it again.
A good hike that can be done by most. The views are priceless. We saw AL ROKER there. Takes about 2 hours and end it with a Hawaiian shaved ice and cheeseburger from Magoo's Pizza Concession Truck parked near the restrooms and water fountains.
It is just a large crater! Drive in. We walked from the bus stop and it is up hill quite a ways. There is also a trail to walk to the top of the crater and back.
Seriously, all you need is to get your camera, extra memory, and just go, go... What a beautiful view, its a mix of the city and the beach, and its not hard to climb. Sometimes can get very crowded on that spot with the best view, but just wait for your turn, it will take not more than 5 minutes...
Took the local bus to get there and walked up - the views were good. There is a small entrance fee and there are toilets and a food van there for drinks/burgers, etc.
Hiking to the top of Diamond Head is a great way to catch some fantastic views of Waikiki.
Anyone with average fitness won't have a problem with the climb- family groups were on the track the day I went.
When you're almost at the top (after you've gone through a tunnel) you can chose to turn right and climb some...

We walked a few blocks, then decided to just go check out the lower level (parking lot). It was very hot but after stopping and getting lots of very reasonably priced water at the slushy stop, we decided to go to the top. Awesome but I would recommend good shoes, hats and lots of water. One person was air lifted...
