We decided to do this on our last day because we wanted to stay close to Honolulu for our afternoon flight home. It was not easy to find as the tripadvisor address was incorrect. Finally we asked around and found our way up. The road up was very beautiful and we stopped to take a few pictures.

If you have your own rental car, be sure to drive from Honolulu along the coast towards Kailua on Kalanianaole Hwy 72 for some amazing and breathtaking views -- literally mountains on one side of the road and ocean on the other side. After visiting National Pacific Cemetery we decided to take a right hand turn and drive the Tantalus/Round Top Drives before returning to Honolulu. Small mountainside park, great views of Honoluul, Waikiki and the University of Hawaii. A must-see stop onyour drive throough the hillside Roundtop neighborhood above Honolulu.

Although a little difficult to find, this out of the way park offers excellent views of Honolulu from the mauka side. Parking is plentiful

Beautiful wide panorama view of Diamond Head, Waikiki, Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, and everything in between! Took my breath away. Grounds of park are well kept and there is a picnic area nearby. No hike required to see fabulous views!

We opted for this drive instead of hiking Diamond Head. The drive wasn't far from Waikiki. When we got to the top there were several parking areas to take pictures and enjoy the view of the island.
