What an amazing place to visit and so unexpected in a pretty little cove off the road to Pizzo. Definitely worth a visit to see the statues of biblical scenes and even a likeness of Kennedy!
The church history is very intriguing. It was moving to think about the sailors that created the church and carved the statues out of love and gratefulness to the Virgin Mary. There is a spectacular beach with clear water nearby, open to the public. Both can easily be done in a day or afternoon.
This was a very interseting Church built in a cave. We went inside and looked around, made a donation.
The church is well hidden and was a lovely surprise when we walked inside it. The carvings are incredible & the natural light show the figures up so well. Anna knew the stories related to the church and she kept us really interested throughout the tour.
