- Ali S1 contributionThe Entrance staff on duty were so Friendly and a joy to chatter with prior to walking round the Aquarium, Museum and zoo...
We Loved learning about the Lionfish that was a Highlight of the displays for us...
The museum also had some interesting facts...One in particular regards natural treatments for illness....! Made you squirm just reading about them...
The zoo its not massive but still getting up close to the Alligator and learning a little bit about them was fascinating and a highlight....

The ride is less than 30 minutes and is comfortable with good scenery. You can pay cash as you board, or save a little money and buy tickets at a kiosk.Written September 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CanadianCurlyfryEdson, Canada52 contributionsThis street in Hamilton was adorable. I loved walking along here, with the water to one side and the colourful buildings on the other side. It was clean and felt very safe while we were here.Written September 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matt SBrighton, MI2,435 contributionsThis beautiful out-of-the-way gem of a park and beach definitely was not geared towards a local attraction, so when we got here, we were definitely able to enjoy our visit. There were people here enjoying the park and the beach, but it was more of a local crowd (enjoying a late lunch, hanging on the beach). The small beach was enjoyable to walk on, and get in the shallow, calm lagoon area.
On the other side of the hill area surrounding the lagoon area was an absolutely beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean, and the Royal Navy Dockyards. While there, a privately owned catamaran sailboat pulled up to the small dock, so their occupants could enjoy a beach visit.
There is some walking on a moderately steep grade down and up that is unavoidable to get down to the park and beach area, so be warned. However, at the top near the entrance before heading towards the grade, there were still gorgeous views to be had.
Definitely a good place to visit if you can get there!Written March 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's mainly flat for the first half on Front St. but when you turn left toward the fort it's straight uphill for the second half. It was a rough walk in the blazing heat. We were relieved when we arrived. The ground level of the fort is mainly a large, beautifully-kept garden now, with tons of gorgeous flowers and bushes everywhere, with some cannon outposts surrounding. But it's the underground tunnels and the dry moat that were the coolest. Tons of wild flora (and tiny lizards and even chickens) in the moat, which is a surprisingly long walk if you go all the way around. The tunnels are very long and cool to see and must have taken a long time to build back in the day. We didn't see any literature on the history of the place onsite, but I guess that keeps it so litter-free. There was a water fountain by the top of the stairs, which is handy since the tunnels are pretty far underground. Honestly, I didn't expect much from this fort, but was surprisingly impressed at the grounds and how fascinating the entire site was. And it was all downhill on our walk back to the ferry which was nice.Written July 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - michelegreen74valley cottage448 contributionsWe stopped into the cathedral on our way to Horseshoe Bay. As my husband is the music minister at our church at home, so we thought it would be lovely to stop in. The 100 year old organ is beautiful and the wall of pipes must truly sing! The stained glass windows were lovely and the cool stunning interior was worth a visit! It is very close to the Hamilton Bus Hub so if you are taking mass transit, you may be able to work this into day.Written August 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katrina WNew Kensington, PA26 contributionsStopped in before heading out to visit Hamilton for information on local history. The pleasant young lady informed us of a free city tour that starts and ends at City Hall. Ed Christopher was our tour guide. Dressed in colonial period clothing carrying a handbell like his predecessor Mr. Ed lead us through town talking about history and local culture. His monologue was both funny and informative. His knowledge of Hamilton history was riveting. Mr. Ed is a true natural gem.Written November 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA16,858 contributionsThis is a big green space, immaculately-maintained, close to downtown. The sharp green colors are striking. Take a break from your shopping to rest in the shade with a breeze.Written September 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janice OPhiladelphia, PA192 contributionsThe museum is in the City Hall building in Hamilton on the second floor of the up a gorgeous staircase. The very cool air conditioning on a humid day is a pleasant stop by to recharge from the heat. It was free last week, but I made a contribution. The permanent collection is varied, but the galleries have magnificent exhibits that we enjoyed. Any art lover will enjoy this stop.Written June 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- lexmillerBurlington, MA1,159 contributionsA short walk from the Royal Naval Dockyard. We very much enjoyed this but it's nowhere near as large/big/wide/expansive - as we'd thought. Very small. Interesting though as if you dig down through the glass, you just find more glass, never came upon sand! I suppose if you have experience with other seaglass beaches in the world, you may not be as impressed as we were, because yes even though it's very small, it's still amazing - and sparkly! It's an old naval dump, explaining why all of the glass is HERE, and not all along the shore on the coast. Since we've been to Bermuda several times before, this visit, we are glad we went to the seaglass beach. It is very near the Royal Naval Cemetery, which is a MUST - lovely day walking about from the cruise port.Written November 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jrs576Philadelphia, PA164 contributionsReally nice cave with crystal clear water you can swim in. Cool and relatively unique experience. Water is cold but not any colder than Atlantic in early summer in mid-Atlantic region of US. Note: I’m fairly certain you can only access this if you’re a guest at Grotto Bay resort, so a nice fringe benefit of staying there. Good experience for all agesWritten June 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
