Voted Britain’s Finest Natural Wonder, and the winner of all major environmental and tourism awards. There are three exceptional caves to experience - Dan-yr-Ogof, Cathedral Cave and Bone Cave. Each cave offers a unique underground adventure. In Dan-yr-Ogof you walk through beautifully decorated passageways for just under 1 kilometre; in Cathedral Cave you walk through enormous caverns, carved out millions of years ago. At the end of this cave you will walk behind 40 feet high waterfalls that cascade around you in the ‘Dome of St Paul’s’, an exceptional end to a truly breathtaking cave. In Bone Cave learn why 42 human skeletons are buried there, and why our ancestors used caves all those years ago.On site we also have one of the world’s largest collections of life-sized dinosaur models. Ranging from the ever popular Tyrannosaurus Rex and Brachiosaurs, to the lesser-known Tsintaosaurus. There are over 220 models to see – you are bound to find your favourite dinosaur! The Shire Horse Centre offers the excitement of two indoor children’s play areas. We also have the farm experience. Why not make friends with the gentle giants – our Shire horses are waiting to say hello. Include the Iron Age village, museum, stone circles, and you have plenty to see and do for all ages. As we are situated in a National Park, you might like to consider staying on our Caravan/Tenting site for your visit to the caves? For those who may want a break, there is our Coffee shop, and finally the Rock and Dinosaur shop to enjoy.

Well worth the walk up from Rhayader. Craig Goch is particularly impressive with the water cascading over the top. Caban Coch was dry when I visited, but the bright green moss on the face of the dam makes an interesting photo none the less.

Absolutely stunning place, gardens are spectacular, staff very friendly and helpful, well worth a visit any day, can't take pics or vids inside but it is truly magnificent, the toilets were very clean, free parking and for only £15 it is money well spent

Beautiful scenery, the lake view is amazing.
One thing : Why do they cut all the trees around!? It's very sad and you can barely have a walk because of that

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. We attended a Family Raptor Experience (family of 4 with teenage children), and had an incredible time learning about the fabulous birds. Barry and Luce were super welcoming to us, and are so knowledgable and passionate about their birds and the environment They spoke with infectious enthusiasm, and we learned loads during this very interactive experience. It is clear to see Barry and Luce put their birds’ welfare first, and these beautiful animals thrive in their Welsh home. Thank you for our amazing experience!

They're closed a few days each week as it's sort of off-season while the Ospreys are bag in Africa. But we popped in on a Sunday Morning and had a fabulous coffee and equally fabulous cake. Love it here

This beautiful building holds alot of memories for our family. My Mum & Dad held their after wedding party there over 60 years ago when it was know as the Shire Hall and more recently my husband and I held our 25 wedding anniversary there. 💕Today we visited with our Mum to begin the festive celebrations. Unfortunately the lift wasn't working but that didn't stop the army of volunteers jumping to our aid and kindly offering to carry my Mum in her wheelchair up the steps to gain entrance! The rooms looked beautiful, with a huge Christmas tree tradionally decorated, roaring fires and pots of delicious tea and cakes to enjoy while we sat and soaked up the atmosphere. We had a lovely afternoon, meeting lots of people and popped along into the well stocked shop for a few Christmas presents! Thankyou Gabby, her team and all the volunteers for your warmth and kindness, it was very much appreciated and created a very special visit for us all. Deb, Steve & Hazel

Hidden gem! We have visited a few times before to walk around the gardens and stop off in the cafe. Today we went for the Christmas Fair. I was so happy with the free mulled wine on arrival. Lots of lovely local stalls. Got some cheese, Christmas gifts, and flavoured oils. There were chestnuts roasting, choirs singing, and it was just so beautiful. I couldn't think of a better setting. We'll 100% be there next year 😀

Visited the mill and one of their volunteers gave us a wonderful tour around the whole mill, giving us thorough detail about the operation which goes on to produce the finished flour. Fascinating. Very helpful and friendly chap.
The mill has a good cafe, which also sells bread making kits and bread made on the premises.
Good way to spend an hour or two
