I really enjoyed this more than I was expecting to.
There is even a little movie theater inside with the movie “The world’s fastest Indian “ showing on repeat. On a sunny day, it is a wonderful place to visit and admire the scenery.
Each Saturday morning, the Invercargill parkrun is held within the park. Visited the cafe which is in the same building and the food was delicious and very reasonable. Spent an enjoyable morning there. It’s easy to become distracted so it’s better to pull over and take in the views. Leaving Dunedin and head south towards Invercargill brings you in contact with rich farming land, towns and villages. Heading from Invercargill towards Queenstown, the farms are replaced by stunning mountains and lakes. We took food with us and it was great sitting in the car/on the beach watching the sun go down.
It's a very short drive from the centre of Invercargill.

There’s even a coin operated washing machine which was very handy. - Linzz8 contributionsAll the staff are helpful I take my grand children there most weeks I am in a wheelchair and the cafe is very good.. a very reasonable cost for the family.. you can also take your own food if you wish. The building, which is not open reminds me of something out of the Sound of Music. A very good kids play area and a nice 15 minute walk around the gardens.
