Well worth the visit. Lovely museum & gardens containing an impressive & varied collection of pre- Colombian artefacts. Open every day, so great to do on a Monday when some other museums are closed.

Well worth the visit. Closed Mondays. Beautiful building in a lovely park housing a great collection of work from pre-Colombian to Modern period. The cafe is fabulous & has a great selection of Vegetarian & Vegan food. Get there before 3pm to enjoy their special offers! 😉

The place is as well preserved as ever. I have been here several times, and had dinner at this location. It never cease to amaze me. The food at the restaurant is always spectacular and the attention from the staff it’s outstanding. This is for sure a place that never disappoints.

We went to this place not expecting much from it, and we ended up have lots of WOW moments.

All visits are guided (spanish and english available), but there is not need to book it in advance. We go in by small groups of 20 max, and the tour guide will educate you about the Franciscanos history, life and immigration to Peru.

Photos and videos are not allowed, and the tour lasts no more than 1h. You will have to climb stairs (didn’t see elevators there) and you will go into the catacombs and stay there for a while… so if you’re claustrophobic it might be an issue.
I’m claustrophobic myself, and it wasn’t an issue for me… but depending on the syndrome level, it could be.

Into the catacombs you will see lots of bones and skeletons.

The whole building is very well maintained and packed with history.
It was the highlight of our visit to Lima.

Beautiful place with colonial architecture around. Clean streets and it feels safe to walk by. We enjoyed watching the changing of the guards at the presidential building.
    Must-see place in Lima!
    Definitely recommend this one!

The Miraflores Boardwalk (Malecon de Miraflores) is a splendid approximately 3 km path that winds along the water atop the high cliff. There are fun little parks, including the romantic El Parque del Amor, cafes, viewpoints, and a spot where daredevils launch themselves with specially designed parachutes.

To avoid walking the same path back, we took the coastal path along the water, passed the last footbridge leading up to the start of the boardwalk at the end farthest from the Lacomar Shopping Mall. This way, we got to see both the water (surfers) and airborne daredevils.

This place summarizes the experience of the encounter of a multifaceted reality of a country that has been shaped over time with pre-Columbian roots.

If you’re walking along the coast in the Miraflores area of Lima, this park is definitely worth a stop!

It’s a lovely green space with a gorgeous view of the ocean.

The landscaping in the park as very nice—trees and flowers and lawns. Staff were busy taking care of the park during our visit—a sign of the pride Lima seems to take in its public spaces and, I’m sure, the reason why the park was immaculately clean!

Of course the main attraction is the “lover’s” theme: the walls of the park have pretty mosaics, inlaid with quotations about love, and there’s a large central sculpture that’s fun to see.

A nice diversion during a coastal walk.

This Cathedral inside is really majestic, its chapels and sculptures have remarkable quality and one of the main tourist attraction is the crypt of Francisco Pizarro.
