It was interesting to see but, sadly, at the time we went the pools had dried up due to a recent earthquake and I believe also a disturbance of the water table. The area is very nice however with lots of fumaroles and a great public pool.

Wonderful museum! We first learned about this wonderful museum through the "Museums in Strange places" podcast. When we arrived in Iceland, the Hveragerdi - Stone and Mineral Museum was a must see on our itinerary. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. Our 5 year old, still talks about his visit, 4 months after returning home!

Fantastic local geothermal pool in Iceland.
Popped in for a swim. Super friendly people. Rainy day but warm water. Swam laps. Locals sitting in the hot tub. Views of the mountains capped in snow while you swim. I swim in pools all over the world, mainly sea pools but this pool has to be in my top 10 for how unusual it is. As an Australian we expect a lot!

Very small interesting place. The earthquake exhibition centre is from an eruption in 2008 where you can straddle America and Europe. No fee to go in and read the exhibits and watch the video. There is a small craft shop, a bakery/bar and supermarket. There is a small fee to go inside the "quake house" There are free to use toilets here too. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

We were limited in our choice of activity this day due to heavy rain. We ended up visiting this place. It was small and didn't take so much time, but it was interesting.

Our main reason for visiting was to experience the simulation of the 2008 earthquake. You can learn more about the impact of the earthquake on the community as well. The simulation definitely provides visitors with the realtime feeling of what was experienced and also information regarding the impact of the quake on the community. The cost is 300kr per person. In addition, there is a wealth of information regarding tours, a post office to mail cards, and a cafe to purchase pastries. It is definitely a nice stop for people as they make their way through the country.

Northern lights tour given only as a true local family business could give. Educational, entertaining, friendly, fun. Would definitely use them again. Worth every bit of money!

Fantastic day ride with guide Elmer.Challenging route but very rewarding with good pace, lots of flow and very few stops. One of the best days we have had riding with a good mix of single track, climbs, descents, berms.streams, rocks and technical stuff. It really exceeded our expectations and we are coming back next year .I have never ridden anything with this much uninterrupted quality and really impressed with Ice BIkes on every level.👊👍😊 Andrew and Casey, England
