What travellers are saying
- Anita DMinneapolis, Minnesota, Usa191 contributionsMy husband and I love the uncrowded beach. Usually it has fine sand, but this year there was a lot of crushed seashells. I regret not bringing my water socks. We like it that there are no commercial beer joints with loud music on the beach.Written March 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pfefmeisterSan Francisco, CA3,043 contributionsLove this super wide beach with hard packed level sand making it easy to walk. Plenty of shells to sort through as well. This is one of the best and widest beaches around. Parking - for a fee - seems to be plentiful.Written February 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Eric BSafety Harbor, Florida, United States18 contributionsSituated on the north end of St Pete Beach, Upham Beach is covered with the famous Gulf Coast white sand. Because of the nearby jetty there are a couple of smaller lagoons where kids can play, out of the surf. Not that there is ever much surf here, per se. Most days, the Gulf is calm. There is a snack bar/restaurant at the beach called the Paradise Grill. Don't let its looks decieve you, the food is quite good here and priced right, and they sell beer. There are also bathrooms and a shower if needed. Parking can be a bit challenging, especially on weekends or holidays, beware. You also have to use a parking app, which some older vistors may struggle with. Great beach witha mixture oflocals and tourists alike.Written November 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kimberley HTrumbull, CT75 contributionsWe were in the area for a memorial service and this place had good reviews so we decided to check it out. Scott, the bartender heard our pleas for food and alcohol (we had driven two hours and were HANGRY) and quickly got our food order put in. The smoked fish was outstanding, really hit the right notes for flavor and healthy. We enjoyed many of the beers, the Kolsh and the IPAs were favorites. The head brewer and my husband talked for at least an hour... he was extremely knowledgeable and generous with his time. We loved it so much we went back a few days later and enjoyed the open mic night with Hannah. Had a great time - such wonderful people. We bought some swag to remind ourselves of this gem!Written February 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christopher SFalmouth, UK128 contributionsA great facility fronting the waterfront. Greatly enhanced each autumn by the quality bands and the work of the local fire service supporting this open air venue. - Mark GCatonsville, MD3,366 contributionsThe Dolphin Shopping Center was so convenient while staying at the nearby Sirata we must have made 2 or 3 stops at the Publix and the Dollar Store. We also had a late lunch at the Chick-fil-A on check in day. There is a CVS, a few other restaurants, UPS store, Swim N Play and a few more. The shopping center comes in handy having the only grocery store on the island.Written May 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
