What travellers are saying
- BlackRoseCherMalibu, CA344 contributionsGreat boat ride. Great narration throughout the ride. They also have a great gallery of food. Great fall colors throughout the tripWritten October 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KDWindsor, NY3 contributionsDriving up to Greenville you will see Moosehead Lake cradled between the mountains; it's breathtaking. We stayed a night on the lake at Lawrence's Lakeside Cabins and kayaked. The water is crystal clear and swim-able in July - not cold. Would be happy to stay here for longer.Written July 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Susan B4 contributionsWe drove around different areas of Lily Bay State Park and it is a very scenic drive and would highly recommend. However if you are going down some of the unpaved roads in the more remote areas of the park I would advise being in a 4x4 with thicker tires and having a CB radio or sat phone available as you will lose phone service and there are areas with damaged metal culverts that have jagged metal exposed that could pop a tire easily.Written July 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Agnes WDundee, NY81 contributionsMy husband and I found this little gem while we were in the Moosehead Lake region of Maine. The road leading in is a bit deceiving however keep going down and you will reach the water. Easy place to put kayak or canoe in. This pond is remote with 2 or 3 old little cottages on it. There are some small islands on it however trying to access them by kayak is difficult as there isn't great landing area's. Travel down the little inlet to observe wildlife. We only encountered 1 other kayaker the whole time we were there. Very quiet but beautiful "pond" it's worth the rough road in!!Written August 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pauline8 contributionsIt was amazing to see the video's of the long gone logging days and the many relocks at the museum. Many pictures of period clothing. So many hard working loggers.Written July 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Pauline8 contributionsWe took a ride on the Pontoon boat to Mount Kineo. It was amazing to be so close to it. We got a snack and drinks at the golf course next to it.Written July 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Expedition7735066 contributionsThe visitor center represents the region. An area with hundreds of miles of crisp peaceful views, separated from the high paced world. Come without an agenda and enjoy.Written March 16, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Cary H1 contributionGreat wine, friendly owner, very beautiful small winery and gardens. I like sweet and a lil dry, wasn't sure what to get. Owner was super helpful and gave me a free wine tasting. Wine is very fresh and crisp. We are cat owners, always seek out local cat type shops.Written June 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lissie4 contributionsGreat hike with beautiful views on top and some interesting features along the way. Path is easy to follow and clear, but it is STEEP in many parts. It was listed as a moderate hike, and I agree, in a way, but it will give you a workout! Up and down took us a total of about 3 hours with 2 dogs along.Written July 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - emptynestertravelerToledo, OH3 contributionsHotel was clean and comfortable. WIFI worked well. Beautiful trail up Little Moose Mountain right at the end of the parking lot. Great view of the lake.Written August 29, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Marc1937Chicago, IL62 contributionsPerhaps the owners of this development could realize that they were designated locally as a hiking trail, and then someone forgot to maintain the trail. As we arrived we found the parking sign for the trail head lying on the ground. The signs to the trail heads were almost impossible to find at all. Ultimately because a mammoth tree was blocking our trail we gave up on the hike. We would have required several hours with a CHAINSAW to make our way, and it seemed we were the only people that had hiked on this trail in the past six months.Written June 4, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MartyMooseOhio4 contributionsAmazing flight in a vintage aircraft. Roger, the pilot is extremely skillful in his flying abilities. Very smooth take off and landing. If you ever have a chance to go with Roger, just do it, you will not regret it. After seeing the area by air, the Mt. Katahdin cruise was a disappointment. Don't waste your money on the cruise, spend it on the 45 minute float plane flight and see Mt. Kineo and Lobster lake up close.Written September 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
