Yes it’s a dirt road, yes it’s $5 per car but yes it’s still worth having a look. It’s unusual , not too long of a walk & it’s photogenic so why wouldn’t you check it out.

I drove from Wanaka to Omarama today & did Lindis Pass on the way. I stopped three times to take photos as it was so beautiful. I imagine it would be even nicer with a bit of snow on the mountains but I was pleased with my view today. Hopefully my photos encourage you to check it out.

A well sign-posted track that is fairly easy to navigate. There are some steep areas, so descending wasn't particularly fun - but the views up the top are sensational! I would say the track is moderately difficult, but we managed okay with average fitness. There aren't too many shaded areas, so water and sunscreen is a must. There is also no toilet nearby, so make sure you start on empty.

It’s just a statue on the side of the road, but a very nice sheep at that. I wouldn’t make a special trip to it but definitely deserves a photo and a pat if you are passing.

Highly recommend this awesome experience 👏
The tubs are very private and are filled with glacial water - no chemicals. Alternating a cold shower and then soaking is really invigorating and relaxing

A lovely surprise on our Alps to Oceans cycle trip. The woolshed is a little bit of history along the trail. Beautiful corrugated iron hues on the back of the building. Pity we can't go inside anymore - but still can view through the open door.

Great place to stop and shop. Also a great place to eat with some friendly sheep out back. We had beef pie, chicken pie, hot dogs, and BLAT. All were excellent with very friendly service.

Regular souvenirs and knickknacks but more than this.
Genuine collection of out of print NZ books and others. A N Z Pickers paradise.
Give yourself time to potter around.

The Koru Drum and Dance Community has built a reputation for pleasing audiences throughout the Waitaki District and beyond. It offers classes in drumming and dance which many visitors love.
The group's performances are consistently excellent. Energy and spirit are two words to associate with this group. Koru is a very special outfit which people in the local area can feel privileged to support.
