Current exhibitions include New World Cuisine: The Histories of Chocolate, Mate y Mas, explores cultural blending through food. Colonial pieces from the collection and loan are displayed in context of a New Mexican, Mexican and Spanish kitchens, complemented by sections on wine, chocolate and the South American Yerba Mate tradition. Gallery activities include a short film, a scent station of herbs and spices, world map with food magnets, and a recipe exchange. More than 120,000 objects are on display in the long term exhibition by architect and designer Alexander Girard. This international folk art collection includes miniature buildings, streets and village scenes from more than 100 different countries.
