Montpellier is a city in southwest France . It can be reached by car on the A9 or A75 motorways, by train to the Montpellier St. Roch station, by boat to Sète or by plane.
Popular tourist attractions in Montpellier include La Place Royale du Peyrou, La Cathédrale Saint-Pierre, L’Ecole de Médecine and Les Jardin des Plantes, or the botanical garden.
The esplanade runs through the centre of town and is a great place to relax and walk around. There are usually some street vendors and a few nice open air restaurants.
Montpellier - Méditerranée Airport (airport code MPL), sometimes called Fréjorgues Airport, serves 11 carriers with regularly scheduled flights and an additional five with charter services. None of the airlines offer flights to more than three destinations, with most only flying to or from one city.
The carriers served by the airport include low cost carriers Ryanair, EasyJet and Transavia as well as major carriers Air France and Iberia.
Air France offers the most flights per year, with KLM and Delta offering the second and third most frequent trips. Only nine of the carriers at Montpellier – Méditerranée Airport operate year round. The rest only offer seasonal services.
