My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Bikini Beach Resort, June 5-10, 2006. We did alot of swimming, eating and drinking!
of the few remaining "low rise" beach properties left in the area. 3
stories, Gulf-Front. Small gulf-front swimming pool, "Tiki Bar", beach
We had a wonderful stay, gulf-front room for only $100 per night. Throughout the week, we were able to walk everywhere for food and drink.
The folks were friendly and accomodating to us.
Out of the 5 days that we were there, the water was OUT OF THIS WORLD on 3 of them. Crystal Clear. Just great. On the other 2 days, you had to wade through about 15 feet of seaweed at the shore. From that point on, the water was crystal clear.
I've enjoyed many Florida beach vacations....Pensacola Beach, Destin, SanDestin, Grayton. This was my first time in Panama City Beach, and it quickly turned into my favorite!
Fun place directly on Panama City Beach. Hot Wings, sandwiches, appetizers, etc.. Cold beer and great views of the water. On our first afternoon in town, we walked along the beach to Hooters from our Bikini Beach Resort. LONG, LONG walk, but worth it. Had pitchers of beer, steamed clams and hot wings.
GREAT breakfast place located across from Edgewater shops, just a block
back from Front Beach Road. (NOT to be confused with the nearby Waffle
We ate at this place several mornings. Family owned and operated, they put the "Waffle House" to shame! EXCELLENT FOOD!
Located in the "Shoppes of Edgewater", basically across the street from the Bikini Beach Resort and Holiday Inn.
Cute place, reminiscent of a national chain restaurant.... TGIF's or Ruby Tuesday's in decor.
The hostess was HORRID, but our waiter was a doll. My husband ordered their Ribs and raved! He absolutely loved them.
I ordered fried scallops (with visions of fresh bay scallops prepared in the kitchen). Mistake. They were frozen with a very bland/ordinary breading. Big disappointment, but Dominic LOVED his ribs!
Prime Rib, steaks and seafood.
This place was one of the finest restaurants that we've eaten in. Living in the New Orleans area, that's saying ALOT.
We took a cab there on my 46th birthday. $10 each way from Bikini Beach Resort.
The place knocked us out! It was romantic, dark, nicely decorated. Our waiter was great. We went "all out".
Enjoyed Ketel One martinis before dinner. Great. Just as ordered.
As an appetizer, I ordered a puff pastry that was topped with escargot and artichoke hearts. What a neat combination! I might have added some type of sauce, but it was very good.
My husband ordered a Portabello Mushroom that was topped with crabmeat, onion, tomato and melted cheese. He was in heaven!
Husband had a house salad which he enjoyed. I ordered a Bibb Lettuce salad with Blue Cheese crumbles. WOW! It was delicious!
For entrees, I enjoyed the Prime Rib, medium rare. My husband had a medium Filet Mignon. These cuts were absolutely delicious!
As a side dish, we ordered the "loaded potatoes". This was really unique....your baked potato arrived uncut. Along side were individual mini-bowl of Sour Cream, Bacon Bits, Chives and Cheddar cheese. It was a "make your own" potatoe. What a cute touch!
Retired into their cute British-themed pub for a little live music and a Rusty Nail for dessert.
I can't say enough about this place! LOVED IT!
A neat, open-air restaurant right on the Gulf of Mexico. Just off of Thomas Drive.
We strolled from our hotel to the place. Cute place. Gorgeous water views. Very limited menu during their lunch hour.
I had fried GROUPER Fingers served with fries. Husband had a huge club sandwich served with tortilla chips.
What was really neat was their PINEAPPLE COLE SLAW! I'm a big cole slaw fan, and just loved the little chunks of pineapple in theirs! I'm going to start making mine that way!
Great music, happy hours and specials.
We arrived at 4 pm. to enjoy their 2 hour "happy hour". Long necks were only $1.50 a piece. (half price) Cute, cute place. Adorable barmaids, but left before things got "wild". (I offered to send my husband back by himself, but he declined...heh,heh).
"Drinkin' and Dancin".
Stopped at this place for a couple of drinks on the way back from Coyote Ugly. It's on the North side of Front Beach Road, but still got a lovely breeze. Open air, friendly bartender, but rather costly. $6 margarita. $6 32 oz. draft beer.
We ate at several places in this development.... Sweet Basil's, Montego Bay and Los Rancheros.
They had an entertainment complex, "Rock It Bowling Lanes" that was out of this world! Pool tables, darts, bowling, skating, arcade, cocktail lounge. Wow! The night we were there, it was loaded with a wide range of folks.... families with small children, teenagers, adults, you name it. What a great concept!
You could probably give your kids $50 and let them run wild there for hours.
Located in the Shoppes of Edgewater.
This was a big disappointment for me. I ordered a veal/artichoke dish
that was very "ordinary". As well as being nothing special, it was
cold. I had to ask our girl to microwave it for me. I still question
whether it was, in fact, VEAL. I get the feeling that it was pork loin,
Husband had Spaghetti and 1/2 # Meatball. He loved it! Wish I would
have joined him!
For dessert, we both ADORED their Tiramisu. It was the best I've ever
GREAT Mexican food located in the Shoppes at Edgewater.
This place was GREAT. Margaritas to die for! My husband thought that their salsa was some of the best that he'd ever had. We both ordered combination plates and enjoyed everything. I highly recommend this for Mexican Food Fans, such as myself!
