5. Oak Prairie

Throughout the Bald Hill area, there are pockets of oak savannah. This is one of the most threatened habitats in Oregon, over 90% has been lost to cultivation in the past 150 years.

6. Daffodils

In the spring, look for daffodils all along the trail. They're naturalizing and spreading every year.

8. Newt Crossing

There are lots of rough-skinned newts in the area, particularly in the wetter parts. Keep an eye out not to step on them.
