when i stayed at the Sun Hotel the staff were very kind to me and i thought the food was delicious. When i went up to my room i thought the room was very cosy and nice. the view from the Sun Hotel is lovely. If i had the chance i would gladly stay at the sun hotel again. more

Must agree with other negative comments posted with regard to this hotel: skeletal staffing levels, little or no pleasantries[ apart from one girl who appeared to be the only member of staff!] and food which appeared to be stuck in a time warp. The kitchen couldn`t even produce decent toast, a better description being slightly warm anaemic sliced bread. It would... more

We've stayed in Warkworth before and had tried unsuccessfully to book the Sun, so we were looking forward to our two nights here . But it's mediocre and dull. The room was adequate, albeit that as with another review the paper was hanging off the ceiling in one place and the extractor in the bathroom was very rattly and noisy.... more

just returned from a long weekend away as a birthday treat, was very dissappointed with the hotel, staff were ok but didnt exactly put themselves out to make you feel welcome. Room was very dated, think it was last decorated about 15 years ago!....wallpaper was falling off the ceiling due to water ingress. The tv in room was only a... more

We came from a noisy youth hostel, so our arrival at the Sun Hotel was like stepping into Paradise. The staff were friendly, extremely helpful, and so hard-working! They staff the front desk, run upstairs to bring you an iron, and wait tables at dinner! Our room was big, beautiful, and clean. There were flowers in the window boxes of... more

The Sun Hotel is in the centre of Warksworth which is everything you would desire from an English village. Our room was large (a triple) and light. There were views of the castle and the river. The bathroom was a bit cramped and the shower impossible to operate. You were either scalded or freezing. Another minor gripe was the quality... more

What a lovely hotel opposite Warkworth Castle. Chanced on it by luck while touring the area having stopped to look at the castle. Comfortable decent sized room with view of the castle from the window. Good shower & very comfortable bed. Enjoyed a couple of pints in the bar & also ate a decent meal there. Would recommend this hotel. more
