Must agree with other negative comments posted with regard to this hotel: skeletal staffing levels, little or no pleasantries[ apart from one girl who appeared to be the only member of staff!] and food which appeared to be stuck in a time warp. We've stayed in Warkworth before and had tried unsuccessfully to book the Sun, so we were looking forward to our two nights here . But it's mediocre and dull. The Sun Hotel is in the centre of Warksworth which is everything you would desire from an English village. Our room was large (a triple) and light. There were views of the castle and the river. What a lovely hotel opposite Warkworth Castle. Chanced on it by luck while touring the area having stopped to look at the castle. Comfortable decent sized room with view of the castle from the window. Good shower & very comfortable bed. Enjoyed a couple of pints in the bar & also ate a decent meal there.
