Stayed one night on a business trip. Hotel a little tired but clean, warm and welcoming. I worked in my room for an afternoon and it was warm and had a decent workspace. Bathroom however was very cold. Bed was a bit tired and decor is dated but for all that I enjoyed this hotel. Staff were excellent and I... More

I read recent reviews but due to lack of availability I ended up at the Gordon Arms. It was with great concern but I had no option. Well all I can say is I could not have found it any better. The staff were very friendly . The rooms I had was a small room but that is what I... More

I stayed at this hotel in Feb 2013.It looks ok from outside but once you get in to your room it is like a 1970's time warp. The rooms are dark/dreary/dated and worst of all very dirty! The carpets were filthy looking but the worst part was the bathroom. The shower was absolutely filthy. There was orange mildew everywhere and the grouting was... More

While I am open to comments and complaints (as shown below) I feel this review is at best disappointing for the following reasons. The room allocated was a family room but at budget price (45 not 55). The room is large with plenty of natural light. The shower in the bathroom is in a separate cubical and has no sign... More

Myself and my wife stayed at this hotel at the start of December for a friends wedding. When we arrived the outside did not look terrible but we went into our double room we had the worst stay. The rooms are very old fashioned and the toilet was in a cupboard with a chunk missing out if the door. Also... More

Very disappointed with this review given the two previous posts. Heating is individually controlled from within the room and should prevent any condensation on the windows. This guest had two rooms for two nights and had the heating been insufficient we would have been pleased to offer additional heating. Our housekeeping standards are generally high and I am surprised at... More

I stayed at the Gordon Arms in November 2012. I was greeted warmly when I arrived and check in was quick. The room I was given was absolutely spotless. It was a twin room as I was visiting family with my brother. The room itself was large with a large closet and shower room. The beds were comfy and I... More

I used the Gordon Arms again for a couple of nights while working in the area. Best described as a commercial hotel - good value, clean accommodation for travelling work people. Food is good, staff first class and it is great value. Look elsewhere if you want a luxury break but the GA is good at what it does. Watch... More

An honest attempt to serve up good hospitality but the hotel has just tipped over the edge of shabby. Breakfast was hotel standard but please don't play Radio 2 over breakfast. I'd rather have a live stand up comic trying to make me laugh! For full-Scottish breakfasts a hot plate is better than a warm one and poached eggs should... More

Despite a warm welcome from the lovely staff and owners this was not a particularly good experience. The hotel bedroom was dreadful - tired decor, dirty shower, the bedroom carpet had not been vacuumed and I wrote my name in the dust on the television table whilst trying to swing a cat round!. This once charming and popular rural market town hotel has sadly lost its edge and is now very downmarket despite charming and pleasant staff. The rooms whilst clean are poorly decorated, out dated with uncomforable beds and bathrooms are poor, fixtures are tired and there is mould in corners. Rooms smell old and musty, the entrance smells of frying food... More

The Gordon Arms in Huntly Aberdeenshire was much improved from our previous stay around 15 years ago. We only stayed one night but the accommodation was comfortable and clean. We met friends for dinner and all enjoyed a varied and high quality menu with excellent service. Huntly is a very friendly small town in the heart of Gordon Clan territory... More
