We had a great time in an enchanting venue that brought us back to ancient times, it felt like going back in time. Our hosts were extremely gentle and helpful and we enjoyed the food and the tour of the castle. The surroundings are perfect for hiking, mountain biking and enjoing the beautiful nature of the different natural parks of the area. The particular position of the castle permits you to visit 3 Italian beautiful regions: Marche, Abbruzzo and Umbria.

Arrived in the late afternoon and after a great tour of the fortress which includes a prison and ancient wine press, we promptly fell asleep in the comfy cottage. Woke up and went to the beautiful dining room adorned with fading frescoes, we were treated to a 5 course dinner by the Maria Teresa of the Amici family. After dinner we walked along a stone path that lead to a nearby village where cats and elderly Italians were abundant and friendly. Breakfast was equally splendid. From this overnight stay we headed off into the beautiful national park Sibillini Park which showcased a wildflower plain.

We stayed at castel Di luco overnight as one of the four castles in our "castle loop". Laura and Francesco made the stay here beyond our expectations. The dinner was absolutely delicious. They treated us like family, and we left wishing that we had more time to stay another night.

Our room has balcony so we can view the lovely castle ground in or out. We enjoyed watching sunset from the balcony. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to have meals there - besides breakfast which was very good. What I can say is that they provided services beyond and above: We needed medication but on Sunday, the opened pharmacy was some distance away. Our hostess went to call her friend the pharmacist, who in turn agreed to open the store for us, then she drove us there in her own car. This is what they would do for their guest!
