Just to hear Martin’s stories and his pride for this place is worth the stay. Martin was an excellent host. We were the only people at the hotel. I agree with the previous reviewer. Riverside Lodge is one of the most memorable hotels one could possibly stay in. It was developed from an old hacienda in Batopilas by Skip McWilliams from Michigan (who also developed the Copper Canyon Lodge in Cusarare) and is a triumph. Riverside Lodge, in the old mining town of Batopilas, is at the end of a 65 kilometer one lane dirt road that twists and turns its way down the Copper Canyon.
