We stayed here for a weekend of walking and relaxing. Great rooms, friendly service. Unfortunately the bar is stocked with just typical pub spirits, no selection of e.g. single malts.

Stayed one night here in January 2012.
Old characterful house, refurbished in 2008 in a boutique style. Room was large and well- appointed. The bed was actually two singles pushed together covered in a 5ft double mattress. The two beds looked pretty old but the double mattress was comfortable. Large bath, modern effective shower.
All clean & tidy with facilities like...

My husband, myself and our dog spent two nights at The Maynard MLK long weekend in a superior double room (#7). The room was HUGE, the biggest of any UK room we have ever stayed in. The bed was a king, a little too soft for me but my husband thought it was great. Tons of extra pillows. The TV...

The location and views are great, and the staff were friendly and helpful but everything else (except breakfast) was disappointing. A fantastic old building has been 'updated' by an overzealous interior designer who likes black lampshades and 'feature' battleship grey walls - some bits of it work but others do not (a matter of taste I accept). in fairness our...

First stayed at The Maynard in Feburary and loved it so much that we thought we would return for our wedding anniversary in Dec. It didn't disappoint. The hotel is so friendly yet at the same time stylish and modern. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the staff are always happy to help. The fact that it is...

The rooms are large, warm and inviting not to mention contemporary. The food is exceptional and actually could get rave reviews on its own without the accomodation. The...

Choosing on the internet can be a little hit and miss. However finding "The Maynard" was definitely a hit.
The food and service were excellent and I would single out the bar staff for special mention. Our...

I recently stayed at The Maynard for a friend's wedding. Everything about the venue was great - food, room, staff and views. I'd thoroughly recommend and can't wait to go back one day.

We recently got married here on Sept 24th. It was the best day of our lives and that was down to the excellent service and help we received from all the staff and wedding organiser Kate. Nothing was too much trouble. As a Bride, all my worries and stress surrounding the day were put at ease by how helpful everyone...

Thank you for your positive feedback and I'm glad you found our beds comfy!
A little disappointing to hear our Reception wasn't as helpful as they could of been but we'll work on that and hope you'll see the difference the next time you visit.
