we ate at the george hotel a few times with family and on our own over our weeks stay in hayfield. the food as usual is always of a very high standard and the service very good, and the prices are very reasonable. this pub is definately worth a visit.

My wife and I stayed for one night. We were meeting friends who lived nearby, so needed a bed for the night and breakfast the following morning. We had a relaxing night's sleep and a very good freshly cooked breakfast. No complaints and just what we were looking for.

We had a 2 night stay in April, still snow on the ground, but the hotel's log fires were burning and our room was really warm. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, the food excellent, quality produce and very good value.

While driving around the Peaks in snowy windy weather, we needed to find somewhere warm and welcoming for lunch, and happily the George hove into view. A lovely open fire, charming staff and excellent food (including great chips) provided just about the perfect stopover. Can't think of any downsides at all! Well done George.
