We went to stay here on a golf break there were 8 of us in the group. We had a brilliant two night stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Lee in the golf shop is an asset to the club and helped us out. Rooms were clean and spacious; Emma in the hotel could not do enough for us. Breakfast... More

The hotel is very nice! Kind staff! And very calm place. We spent a week at the hotel and was very pleasant. Excelent gym and pool! It is a little bit far from Colchester (20 km), but if you have a car, that won't be a problem. The price is very good and the place is beautiful (garden, golf camp).... More

Stayed here through work and yes the name is slightly grand for what it actually is. But it is clean, nice big rooms, the facilities with the gym and pool are fantastic and the staff were great. I had no complaints at all about thr food which was hot served quickly and tasted fine. I had dinner and breakfast The... More

This hotel is unlike ordinary hotels as it is part of a sports complex. I stayed overnight (last night) en route from Melton Mowbray to Brightlingsea and my observations are not disimilar from the others posted here. The room and ensuite bathroom was of a very high standard indeed and sparklingly clean everywhere. My room had two single beds and... More

My partner and i stayed here for the weekend and would return. The room was like a travel lodge style room only a with extras!! there was a good tv with freeview channels and tea and coffee with biscuits. The bed wasnt the comfyist as the mattress was about at the end of its life but we did sleep ok... More

Second time we have had a one nighter here, and the hotel was better than I remembered it from the previous visit. The room was a good size, comfy beds and plenty of channels on the tv. There is a reasonable sized pool (take goggles as the chlorine is apparent), a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. Breakfast was fine, with... More

I stayed at this hotel on a business trip and i managed to get a better deal than my client could get me so it is worth while you speaking directly to the hotel. The food at the hotel is real good value for money and the portions were very filling. The only downside to the hotel is that my... More

22 of us arrived at the hotel about 1 hour before tee off and were met with very friendly reception staff who let us book into our rooms straight away. Got to the tee and was met by a very friendly starter who explained rules and regs of the course and set us off on our way - no rushing... More

Front of house staff were good, welcoming and helpful. Room adequate, not the cleanest, but not unpleasant. Other part of the complex could do with a good clean. Catering manager looked like we should not be there and was unpleasant when asked about an offer. He had to be corrected on the offer then tried to over charge. Food plentiful,... More

We stayed here for a one night golf break which included two rounds of golf, dinner, bed and breakfast for £95. On arrival I thought the reception was more like a sports centre than a hotel, but the staff were friendly and when we got to the room it was more than adequate. The bed was comfy, the linen clean...
