We took visiting friends from Yorkshire to supper. They loved their first taste of Suffolk. We were greeted warmly, the dog was made welcome with her own chew, and we settled down to a lovely meal. The local sausages were wonderful, the sea bass and steak and ale pie all passed with flying colours as did the sticky toffee pudding!... More

Went here for my birthday lunch, service fantastic from walking in, right through til leaving. Very varied menu, difficult to know what to choose, but all meals were excellent, couldn't manage dessert but starter and main course were very tasty and especially impressed that my main was served with gravy but was given an additional gravy boat to ensure you... A friend & I stayed for 2 nights midweek - 3rd/4th April. The pub/B+B has a beautiful traditional exterior & is locatored in a great walking area on the corner of a quiet country road junction. The room we stayed in was the family suite which was lovely & although large still had a cosy, real country feel, large comfortable... More

the first time we went the food was good. The restaurant is very nice, a listed building with nice beams. the second time we went we found the meat overcooked. whether that is for safety reasons I don't know...When we went up for seconds.the Chef serving the meat advised us we were only allowed 1 slice of meat. this was... We were attracted to this Bed and Breakfast whilst visiting the area. However, it was quite ordinary inside. We had a basic double room with ensuite, which was 'snug'. The shower was a challenge. We ate in the restaurant and only had simple food, but it was ordinary. The breakfast was okay, but we were tucked away in a corner... More

Paid a second visit to this pub this year and can thoroughly recommend it. Food is excellent, and staff very friendly and helpful. Only slight downside is that it is now part of the Greene King empire (despite the Freehouse sign outside), but the Morlands Bitter I had was well kept.

Went there last night with my wife and 8 week old baby. Atmosphere was friendly without being over bearing, staff helpful and polite and the food excellent. And I mean really excellent. Hunters Chicken completely polished off by the good lady, plate almost clean enough to be reused! I had liver and bacon and it was stunning. It is so... More

Friendly staff and charming location make this the ideal country pub. WARNING - watch the beams they are low in places. Great selection of food and on Sundays make sure you book, the Carvery is very popular.
