Reviews are such a personal thing - I was expecting a lot more given the rave reviews. The location is good for all the tourist venues - Sparkford, Fleet Airarm museum, etc. It isn't too far from Yeovil either. Anyway, the hotel itself is quite a grand building, as can be seen on the various pictures. It is right on... More

You were indeed in one of our family rooms hence the bunk beds, we are constantly striving to improve our rooms so we appreciate your thoughtful feedback. I’m very pleased that you enjoyed our food and found it good value. As a result of your remark about the wine we are putting into place a more rigorous training programme for... More

We spent one night at the IIchester arms and loved every minute of it. This hotel is very deceiving from the outside but once we had booked in and looked around it was fascinating full of history very clean and comfortable The evening meal was beautiful but our entrée was to die for, it was a bowl of hot chips... Stayed here for one night to break journey north after week's holiday in Cornwall. Very pretty spacious room on top floor with large bathroom and very comfortable bed. Country decor with stripped pine and florals, everything very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was good & plentiful, staff friendly and helpful.

Just back from a one night stay at this beautiful hotel. The family room was fabulous as it's sort of seperated into three parts giving our teenage sons, and us, a little privacy. Exceptionally clean and a very warm welcome. Last night, we eat at their sister property, the Bull, which again was so firendly. Had lunch at the hotel... More

We stayed for two nights in this hotel as were visiting for the Yeovilton Air Display. We had a late check in but staff were helpful and felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. Bit of a shock asking what time we wanted breakfast the next day and felt obliged to get up on time. Breakfast was v.good... More

We had an evening meal in the Bull, which is owned by the same owners as the Ilchester Arms and across the road from it. The food was delicious - properly home-cooked, pleasantly served and reasonably priced.
