We booked for New Year's eve, having stayed in Galway City centre the previous night. The receptionist was very welcoming and managed that perfect combination of homeliness and 5* service from the moment we entered the hotel. Our room was old-fashioned luxury as were the various resident lounges. We had booked dinner in town and having enquired about entertainment for... More

We stayed late August for our anniversary. Staff was absolutely WONDERFUL and made us feel very welcome. Our room was a large king bed room with a great view of the grounds. We loved having tea in our room and looking out the window....felt like we were in our own manor house. Breakfast was a large buffet plus an to... More

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend in October with my girlfriend. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere. On arrival we had afternoon tea which was very enjoyable. Our room and bed were huge. I can not say enough good things with regards the breakfast. Reasonably close to Galway city. About €10 in a... From the moment we got there our stay was great! The staff greeted us at the door , we were late checking in and really seems happy to see us and knew we arrived safe. The travel agent made a mistake about the type of rooms needed but the reception staff quickly took care of the problem. The food and... More

We stayed in Glenlo Abbey for one night. I got big room with huge and comfy bed. Bathroom needs more attention and should be renovated soon. Jacuzzi was nice. Receptionist greeted us with a voucher for tea, sandwiches and muffins. We liked the old style of this hotel. Nice bar in the basement. There is a restaurant in an old... More

I have recently stayed here. The hotel was old and quiet. The staff are really nice, very friendly and very attentive. What I didn't enjoy was the lack of things to do (other than golf), The pillows are hard and flat, the bed was just OK, the room was large but dark, the fittings/tv are old and not what you... More

I stayed in this charming hotel and enjoyed my stay. The food was very nice and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull, Irish hospitality at its best. How ever the hotel is rated 5 stars and to be honest I feel its not worth the 5th one. (3 and a half maybe)The rooms are dated but comfortable. The... More

Glenlo Abbey is a bit expensive for the accommodations they offer. My friends and I got an executive suite, which is two rooms with a large common family room area with a fireplace. There were just a few things out of place in the room, like the more modern leather couch to the LCD TV (which was placed so that... More
