This was my first trip to the Alps and I couldn't had wished for a more perfect hotel than the Schloss Mittersill. The rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable, the restaurant had great food as well as great views. The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing seem to be a problem. I think for my first visit to... More

In almost 25 years of travelling as a musician with some of the biggest artists in the world, I have stayed in some amazing hotels. This is not necessarily the best....... but it's pretty close! It's not the most luxurious, nor the most opulent, nor for that matter the most expensive, but somehow it manages to combine luxury with a... More

We have stayed in several Austrian castle hotels - Schloss Mittersill so far has done the best of integrating modern comfort into the existing castle. The walls, the dungeon and a lot of the original interior features are still present, but the rooms are completely modern and comfortable. The staff were as friendly and accommodating as anywhere I've been -... More

Spectacular views from our room and the terrace in the restaurant. The hotel is in a very old castle but everything is basically brand new inside and very tastefully furnished. The service is excellent and all the staff spoke very good English. The restaurant is also quite good (and I'm no fan of Austrian food) with very good Austrian wine.... More

This castle is 900 years old but newly refurbished. This unique hotel is the perfect setting. The room was very comfortable, spacious and with wonderful views. Breakfast was very good, lots of food and huge variety. Staff are friendly. Very good value for money. The drawbacks are that there is no phone in the room, so you cannot call the... More

We stayed at the castle from Aug 1- 6, 2012. My brother was married there during that time. I wasn't sure what to expect. Before we even left Canada they assured us everything was ready for our arrival, including arranging transportation from the airport in Munich. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay something we will never... More

We stayed at the Schloss Mittersill for four nights but wished it could have been more and we'll hope to visit again. The castle is owned now by two local families and is in the process of external renovation, the building work is very professional and doesn't impact on the visitor at all. Our room was a 'panorama' room, the... More

In short: the best hotel I've ever been! Now in detail: the hotel is in a real, medieval castle. The castle has been renovated, so it has all modern facilities, but still retains the look and feel of an ancient building. The room's furniture was beautiful and stylish, yet the bathroom was extremely clean and had modern look. Great attention... More

After stops in Bellagio, Sirmione, Verona, and Saltzberg, we were not expecting these to be upstaged by a castle restaurant in the Austrian Alps. But they were. We found this restaurant searching castles near Kufstein. The back roads through the Alps were winding, narrow, and dramatic. The castle itself is set on a hill overlooking the picturesque town of Mittersill.... More

Wonderful hotel, great service I was just a bit dissapointed when I saw the inside of the castle had been gutted and renovated, it doesn't look much like a castle in the hotel rooms but there is still a little history left to look at here and there :) I just love history and was hoping for a legit old...
