After a trying few nights in shiga kogen prince, Naeba prince was exhilarating. You can't imagine how happy we were with the larger, better appointed rooms, and the fantastic choices of eateries. Ski in & out. Very convenient. Youncan stay in one of 6 towers. Rooms were clean but still small by western standards. service staff are, as expected in... More

We stayed in wing no. 4 (twin, mountain view) for 2 nights. The room was big enough for Japanese standards and had an extra sofa bed. We had a great view of the resort. It was nice to wake up in the morning, with the view of Mt. Naeba greeting you by the window. We also enjoyed people-watching any time... More

We got there by taking Prince hotel's own free shuttle bus from Echigo Yuzawa Station which was handy. This hotel is located right beneath mt naeba and its the only hotel that offers a ski-in ski out experience in this area. which is the main reason why we picked the hotel as it would be hell to carry heavy gear... The Hotel is one big complex with several buildings of guest rooms, two receptions, good number of restaurants and shops, public bath and hot spring and several ski lifts stations just doorsteps away. We stayed in Building 3 which is just next to the main building 2. The rooms were a little old but very spacious and had fantastic views.... More

We stayed in building 3, room was really nice and actually quite big. The hotel is situated right at the bottom of Mt Naeba, our room was literally at the bottom of a lift with awesome views of the mountain. This hotel is soo big, with all the restaurants and shops etc spread across the hotel which is a bit... More

Really, there are a whole bunch of smaller hotels down the road with access to both Naeba (since, apparently, people like this resort) and Kagura (which is a much better place for riding). For the price that I paid I was very surprised to not have internet in the room, but even worse was the onsen for which I had... More

First of all, this is not a luxury ski hotel...I don't think it pretends to be, considering the rather inexpensive rates. The rooms are basic, a bit outdated -- but they serve the purpose and are always clean. Not too crazy about their pillows though, definitely bring your own if you must. Breakfast is simple, the point seems to be... More

Ski in ski out is great... everything else is a headache. Language: The hotel shows no interest in meeting the needs of non-Japanese speaking guests so take this into account when you consider a stay here. Little to no signage in English, few menus translated, and few staff with any more than rudimentary skills in anything other than Japanese. Not... More

My wife and I spent Christmas weekend at Naeba. The location is terrific and the ski-in/ski-out nature of the resort is terrific. Overall, the resort is fairly run-down. The restaurants we visited had chips in the walls, the resort itself is definitely ready for a re-model. The hotel itself has numerous ski clothing shops, a food court, and many restaurant... More

OK, so this hotel is a colossal monstrous humongous hotel with about 1500 rooms; it definitely needs repair on the inside and on the outside, and new carpets, a paint job, etc. It's not pretty, stylish or cool in any way. The first 12 hours we were there we thought; what is this place?? We are a family of four... More
