The thing I loved most about staying at Traquair was the time after five in the afternoon, when all the visitors had left and the castle and grounds were mine. I stayed in the White Room, which was very spacious. Breakfast was fantastic. I will definitely come again. More

We stayed at Traquair on our last night in Scotland and it was a magical way to end our trip. The house and gardens are stunning and the museum is fascinating. But the best bit was having the house to ourselves over night. We stayed in the Pink Room in the oldest part of the house, with a stunning view... More

It was perfect for us - staff is Great, rooms are comfortable and big, we stayed in the white room which gave us lots of privacy and views. The breakfast offerings were excellent and the house has a very interesting past. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. They... More

We chose Traquair House as a starting point for a 10 day tour of Scotland and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the pink room in the main house and it was truly fabulous; old style country house, huge room more of a suite really with lovely antique furnishings and views over the maze at the back of the... I like to include a stay at a special, historic place in my travels, and Traquair House was the one during my recent UK visit. Everything, from initial inquiry to booking, arrival, and departure, went flawlessly. Helen, the house caretaker, was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Same with the rest of the staff. I stayed in the White Room – luxurious... More

We stayed for 3 nights in the White room, a elegantly furnished double aspect room with an especially comfortable bed. All the rooms were spotless and crammed with charm owing to their beautiful furnishings. We were lucky enough to be the only occupants for the three nights and had the guest sitting room entirely to ourselves and were able to... More

We've just returned from a two night stay at Traquair and it was magical. we stayed in the white room with a very comfortable bed, the deal was stay two nights B&B and get one nights dinner for a fiver. Helen cooked a delicious supper for us in the still room, and then we retired to the drawing room for... More

We have just spent a night at Traquair House with family to celebrate a family Birthday. It is an amazing place to visit and stay at, you really feel the history there. The staff were very friendly, the rooms beautiful and clean. The breakfast, served in a beautiful blue 'Still Room' was fantastic and typically Scottish! We also ate at... More

We have just returned from a weekend at this house and cannot give enough praise to all at the house. We found the peace and tranquility unbeleivable. I will certainly recommend this house for something completely different. More
