We just visited for an evening meal which was of superb quality and very reasonable priced. There was a queue for tables but the wait was well worthwhile. The fact that the restaurant was packed mid week in the off season probably says it all! I would definitely return here to dine if the opportunity arose.

We stayed here for my brothers wedding 14/15th March 2013. Very friendly staff and host, nothing was too much trouble for them. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Food was excellent and the breakfast was the best I've had in a very long time. A very special thanks to Jason & Co Would definitely recommend this hotel for everyone, couples,families... More

We went here to celebrate my mother's birthday in November and although I had been told it was nice, I was still pleasantly surprised. Situated on the high street near parking, it is quite convenient. It doesn't look like much on the outside but don't let that sway your judgement. The restaurant has a separate entrance to the bar so... More

I chose this hotel after reading Tripadvisor reviews and I concur with the consensus; it's a good, comfortable family hotel with a host who goes out of his way to ensure the guest is well-fed and has a good night's sleep. The dinner in particular was unexpectedly good, the quality worthy of a noted city establishment, and the breakfast was... More

We were warmly welcomed, had an excellent dinner and a very very comfortable night. This was followed by a first class breakfast with loads of fresh fruit, yoghourt and also butter and jams which were not packaged!!! Altogether a first class establishment with a delightful owner.

I booked the Douglas on the strength of the Deuchars on tap and the crackling! We and our three (well-behaved) young children stayed for three nights. The room was clean and bright, the beds comfortable and our room was adapted to fit the kids in with us with no fuss. We ate in the restaurant each night and had a... More

This was our first stay at this small hotel, although we had used the restaurant on a previous occasion. A friendly welcome from the owner on arrival - offered us fresh milk as an alternative to the little pots of UHT. The clean, comfortable and well-furnished room hadn't the best view out of the window, but then perhaps we had... More

Didn't stay here, stayed in a local bed and breakfast but ate here every night. The food is lovely and well worth the money the portions are huge. Defo worth a visit if looking for somewhere to eat.
