This was the last stop over of our 2000 Kms road trip in Rajasthan. We had reached here after a long drive of 450Kms and the moment we reached here we forgot how tired we were. Very impressed with the expanse of the property. Kids had the run of the place. At that time we were the only family there... More

We read a lot about this place, in Lonely Planet; in this forum. Very few places meet reviewed level sustainably. This place did. We went on a long good friday weekend, almost first to reach on the day. It was looking like deserted old palace, made of red sandstone in early morning in last week of March. When we moved... More

Truly a heritage hotel with a right mix of old fashioned and modern setup. The cottages are really good with attached swimming pools. These independent cottages are located within large spans of greens. There is lots and lots of are for kids to play, go for cycling etc. I was very impressed with the whole setup which looked quite beautiful... More

The Palace is unique, made of local red sandstone and many of the walls of its interiors lavishly tiled. The rooms are generally vast and, with the surfaces patterned with Victorian tiles, it has something of the feel of a great nineteenth century municipal hospital with a generous donor. The grounds are beautifully laid out, well maintained and hold further... More

Dhaulpur is the unlikeliest of places to find such a stupendous property. Its beautiful, very well spread out and has great lawns & outdoor sitouts. All the accommodation is in very good and well maintained cotttages, each of which has a private splash pool!!! Based on occupancy, room service is either available or not. If room service is not available,... More

The Raj Niwas is the kind of place you dream about. Not only is it steeped in history and spectacular grandeur, but it has been restored and preserved to a level of excellence we literally didn't see anywhere else in India. Visiting here is well worth going a bit out of your way. We stayed here after leaving Agra and... More

For my recent trip to Taj with some friends I decided not to stay in Agra but in this very particular palace with so much charme of its own. A perfect setting for a romantic film with some dramatic episodes. For me so perfect because the cottages give You a certain privacy and cozyness. The chef made a masterpiece in... More

Stayed here for 1 night - wish we could have arrived earlier to take advantage of the beautiful grounds. A very interesting property, unlike any other I have seen anywhere, let alone in India! Very clean, comfortable rooms with good hot water - and we were shown round the main hotel by a very friendly chap who gave us a... More

I was visiting my nieces family in Dholpur, and this was the only accommodation available. It was fantastic. I had 52 acres, a villa with my own pool all to myself for 4 days, as during that time there was no other tourist there. A bus load were coming the day I left. It is only an hour from Agra,... More

I am writing this review long after actually staying in this heritage hotel. My wife and I, along with another lady friend from the UK stayed here for a couple of nights in October 2011 whilst doing a tour of Rajasthan and parts of North India. We are all elderly! We chose to stay in one of the villa's as... More
