The resort is in terrible condition of disrepair... right from rooms where the ac covers are broken and therefore not attached to a dismal lack of towels due to laundry problems... The resort pretends to be ten minurtes from the sea shore, it is a minimum fifteen to twenty minutes walk after crossing the East Coast Road... The restaurant has no fans and the ac's don't work so it is near impossible to eat there. The food though fresh is basic not very tasty punjabi fare in southern tamil nadu. T THERE is NO TEA available!!! THERE IS NO SOUNTH INDIAN FOOD!!! The swimming pool is not cleaned so leaves, and other muck is floating around. The staff is very amiable and do their best to help which given the lack of facilties does not amount to much. The Bajaj Highland Resort Members need to be very careful about booking any facility if this is the kind of service that is being provided. There is no telephone line even internal that connects rooms to the reception so any request for service has to be given at reception in person. The bathroom lacks bath curtains, the sheets are dirty and unironed and dust lies everywhere in curtains and on tv's. A DEFINITE NO NO FOR ALL WHO WISAH TO HAVE A PEACEFUL AND COMFORTABLE HOLIDAY

Highland Shoreline- Mahabalipuram The Beach Club We booked this resort through Highland Holiday Homes. It is located on the east coast road(ECR), on the other side of the beach one km after Crocodile bank. Though they call it beach club but there is no beach out there. This added little disappointment to us. This is a resort with swimming pool but i guess water over there hadn't been changed from long. When it comes to room, it is spacious but pretty basic. Bathroom is average and its cleanliness not upto the mark. You need to depend upon Resort's food only as there is no near by place. In case if you are foodie like us, you have to commute through local transport i.e. bus or auto for at least 5 to 6 kms. Resort is well connected to the tourist spots (such as Shoreline Temple, Krishna's butter ball, Pancha Rathas etc) as government transportation services are very good. In short it is deserving visit for once because of location only and nothing else. 2.5 / 5 on my scale.

Highland Shoreline Resorts This is a nice weekend getaway for the residents of Chennai. The place is located around 10 kilometers before Mahabalipuram on the East Coast Road from Chennai. This makes it an ideal hour’s drive from Chennai, once you reach the outskirts. This is a small resort, with around 10 to 15 rooms. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and a family of four is easily accommodated. Food is very basic, and since the resort is small, the order needs to be placed well in advance so that it may be prepared just for us! There is a large swimming pool for adults and a tiny one for the kids. Since this is under the shade of trees, kids are able to play around even if there is a hot sun over head! The beach is across the road, but not walkable. There is no local transport to the beach, only buses plying on the highway. The beach is worth the effort taken to reach there, since it is clean and almost deserted. Most of the resorts along the way have their own stretches and there are almost no locals. Cash needs to be carried since there is no ATM nearby and cards are not accepted. Room rates are affordable and it is worth a visit for a weekend with the family.
