From Shinjuku, we took the Keio Highway Bus to Kawaguchiko. Journey took 1h45m and costs Y2,600 pp. We approached the Tourist Office (left of the Station) to request their assistance for Hotel Fujiginkei's complimentary transfer. Driver promptly picked us up and within 10 mins, we were @ Fujiginkei. We stayed 2 nights and paid Y34000 (half board) for the first... More

We have made several trips to Japan and have experienced Hakone. So we thought we would try the other side of Mount Fuji. We took advantage of the discounted JR East pass and this is one of the suggested trip on the JR East website. We took a limited express (Kaiji) train from Shinjuku and changed train at Ozuki. The... We spent one night there during our 5-day trip. Fujiginkei offers free pick-up at Kawaguchiko station. Just call the hotel front desk to notify your arrival. The hotel staff are friendly and polite. For foreign visitors, the staff will help introduce the room and facilities in English. The room we chose was a Japanese style tatami room (including 2 meals... More

If you wish to experience 100% Japanese culture then a stay in a Japanese style room at this hotel is a must! This hotel is charming, the staff are most friendly, the food is exceptional, and views of the lake and Mt Fuji are exquisite. The hotel shuttle-bus will collect you from the station and is also available for other... More

This hotel was magnificent. It is truly authentic Japanese experience, starting from the moment you arrive with a lovely old Japanese member of staff halting the traffic with a yellow flag so that you can cross safely, until the end where you receive a many course, don't know what I was eating, but it tasted fantastic breakfast the following day.... Hotel staffs were friendly and polite. Dinner and breakfast were good and the presentation was nice too. Room was spacious and clean. You could view Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko from your room perfectly.

This hotel had complementary transport from Kawaguchiko train station and the reception was very welcoming and we were able to access our room imediately on check-in. The room keeper, Nanki san, showed us to our room which was quite spacious and had wonderfull views of Mt. Fuji, when the clouds parted. Nankisan then poured us a cup of warm green... More

Considering that I had such an enjoyable experience there, I am surprised that no one has written any reviews on Hotel New Fuji. This is indeed an unpublicised gem! The hotel room was spacious and clean, typical of a ryokan. The views of Mt. Fuji were no less than spectacular (no words can describe it, just view my pictures, they... More
