We stayed 3 nights and found them to be a nightmare. The whole place can be characterized by its meanness. To begin with you have to grope your way to your room because they haven't switched on the passage lights. Then the lights in the room are so low you can't read properly. Go down to dinner (it was raining)... More

We spent 3 nights at this property and came away feeling exploited. It is very expensive (all up around 2200 Euros for the stay) by any standard which is ok if it delivers an exceptional experience but unfortunately the Michel Trama did not. It is located in an isolated little village (note there is little of interest to see in... More

This was the third and final hotel in our trip around the Dordogne and what a treat it was. The town of Puymirol itself is a sleepy, one street village and on the day we visited everything was closed as the whole town (or so it seemed) were in the main square playing pentaque which was about the most quintessential... We stayed two nights recently. The hotel is elegant if a bit older. The help were very friendly. Nothing of this sort is cheap in France so be prepared here and everywhere to pay a fair amount for both good lodging and good meals. The room was quite large with a decent attached bath. The bath had a tub which... More

Visiting the restaurant, we entered the hotel. This was good because we were taken through the kitchen to get to the restaurant - I love a place so confident that you see their prepping and cooking. We chose the Menu des Bastides @ 110 Euros a head including a couple of glasses of wine with the meal. Every course was... More

I have phoned to reserve a room for May 20, and enjoy a delightful meal. The hotel informed me that my quiet well behaved dog sleep who would be secured at my feet, was not welcome in the restaurant. I accept other diners may not like dogs, but living in France, I rarely find this is a problem. After all,... More

Dear Sir, Know that we attach a big importance at the comments left by our guests, they are for us the first source of motivation. We were really surprised by the comment that you left. Effectively, our front desk staff did everything she was able to do to inform you for the conditions of pets. We informed you that pets... More

Eyewateringly expensive! Full 27 euros charged for 1 egg and a cup of tea for breakfast!! Impossibly dark everywhere- no way could you read in the room. No hot water first morning, no complementary bottled water, little Relais and Chateau touches missing and all for 220 euros a night!! Staff pleasant but out of their depth. Dissappointing and definitely not... More

Definetly not worth the trip!!! There is nothing to see or do in the village or area, the prices of both hotel and restaurant are ridiculously high considering location(it cannot in anyway compete to hotels/restaurants in Paris or the south of a France). The hotel was ok but very, very dark in every sense of the word - little or... More

It isn't so much that I disagreed with the quality of this 3* restaurant and hotel..I just felt I was 'missing something'? Example: I sent a fried vegetable dish back at the full menu dinner as the oil tasted of Fish. M. Trama came out first all blustery...tasted it...and agreed. Any apology or complimentry coupe de champagne? Non! At these... More
