What a find!! We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were fantastic, right from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel most welcome. The location is amazing and the scenery just breathtaking. Add to this the fact that we enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever eaten and were served... More

Stayed for 1 night only, last minute booking via bookings.com as we were meeting relatives in Harrogate. What a fantastic find. Room was very well furnished, very comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom, all exceptionally clean. Had requested a quiet room, we were put in the "Navy room", which though quiet and overlooking the rear garden area was next to the... More

I am delighted to read that your stay was almost faultless. However,it could have so easily been completeley faultless as we should have ,as standard, offered you the choice to eat in either area.We are normally very good at making sure that our guests get to eat in their prefered area,so I apologise that you were not offered that chance. Stayed here due to visiting Christmas fair at ripper castle. A warm welcome on a cold night before being shown into a small cottage style room. Delightful styling of room in keeping with character of hotel. Only thing missing was a shower as running two baths in a morning seems hectic and time consuming. Restaurant provided a relaxing ambiance and... More

My wife and I recently stayed as members of a shooting party. We were so delighted with the hotel I wanted to post a quick review. The hotel manages the dual roles of a country house hotel and local hostelry with expertise, good service and charm. The bar is an un-fussy, sensible village pub whereas the hotel lounges exude comfort and... More

Have just spent two nights in the hotel for my husbands fiftieth birthday. Had a lovely time. We stayed in the busby room which was one of the smaller rooms. We had a lovely en suite bathroom. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Some nice little touches were the cafetiere for our morning coffee, a small tin of... More

We are all delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for taking the time to post a review.I will be passing on your very positive comments to the staff including our "little pixie".It would appear that the "very patient young waiter" with the wine assistance needs to work on his customer care consistency as he was the same member... We arrived at the hotel at 1300 hours on Saturday 15th October and we were welcomed and allowed to enter our room a little early. The room was small but nice and clean. We were booked into the bistro but after looking at the menu decided that the food wasnt to our pallet. After going into town for a lovely... More

What can I say? It would appear that the completely unprofessional and unacceptable manner of a single member of our staff has been solely responsible for not only spoiling your stay with us,but also damaging our reputation that the rest of The Team work so hard to maintain. I offer my personal apology and assure you that this matter will... More
