I am very disappointed to say that this hotel's restaurant has suffered a rapid decline. It now suffers from horrible service and bland food. Which is too bad, because it used to be among the best restaurants in the nation. As of Summer 2012, however, I do not recommend it.

Arena is a cute little hotel about an hour to the south of Poza Rica on the Costa Esmerelda. The grounds and pool are beautifully done. And the food is excellent! They have recently moved the restaurant to the beach front, so you have a great view while you enjoy the food (although I recommend dining early--after sunset the mosquitos...
