I just stayed at the Bastilla Ecolodge for two nights, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The views are breathtaking - you really have to see it to believe it. We found a number of very good hiking trails, but we also very much enjoyed relaxing on the porch to our room (which had one of... More

I really liked staying in La bastilla. It's lovely weather and beautiful landscapes will make you come back. Security is not that much, La bastilla should have a dog or more to take care of it. It's a place not only for couples, but for families or business or friends or solo. either way, it's a great place to stay.... More

La Bastilla Eco-Lodge makes for a wonderful place to spend a couple of nights. The setting is stunning, surrounded by cloud forest. The accomodation is very good quality, and there is even hot water in the showers from the solar panals, something which is great (and very rare) if you are to make the most of the surroundings and spend... La Bastilla Ecolodge stay and coffee farm tour was certainly one of the many highlights of our trip to Nicaragua. Was a great way to see the beauty of the highlands of Nica. Touring the coffee farm during harvest time was well worth the time. Very comfortable stay, good food, and warm, friendly people. This great combination definitely made the... More

My husband and I stayed in La Bastilla Ecolodge for 2 nights. We had on dormitory for ourselves, the shower, beds, everything was very clean. It's a little piece of paradise, in aboundant greenery. Each dormitory has a balcony where you can dream, listen to the multitude of birds and have a incredible view on the mountains. Sandra is doing... More

Fabulous setting in the cloud forest about a 45 minute drive from the city of Jinotega. Could be fabulous if done properly, but, unfortunately lack of understanding of the hospitality business resulted in mediocre accommodations and worse service. Despite that, a stay in this paradise like location is well worth the effort. Minimal lighting in the room, tepid water at... More

This Eco-lodge is so fantastically hidden away from the hustle bustle that once you have, finally, reached there, negotiating the very rough road (you need 4X4 for the last leg of the trip), it is really worth it! The first thing we did was to put our sweaters on. It must have been, at least, 60 degrees Fahrenheit, if not... More

This is a really nice place. It’s reasonably priced, the food they serve is excellent, it’s on a coffee plantation so the grounds are beautiful and the staff is wonderful. It’s almost like staying a friend’s place because the gals who run it (Christine and Escarlett) are so nice as is their local staff. We almost felt guilty for not... More

La Basitlla Ecolodge is the perfect place to go if you really want to get away from it all and spend time in nature. The setting itself is spectacular; I was truly filled with wonder my first night there. The staff is lovely and exceedingly accommodating, a serious accomplishment in Nicaragua. My boyfriend and I did their deck camping which... More
