As a returning Tanzanian resident working in Zanzibar I stayed here for 1.5 months so know it very well. Overall staff is nice and the rooms are ok. Number 1--something NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THE MOSQUITOS...they are absolutely horrible!!!! The fumigation is obviously not working. The first week or 2 they offered "mosquito coils" but the remainder of my... More

We stayed at this resort for two nights in August 2011 and it was excellent stay. The place is a little out of the main Stone town but then it is very easy taxi ride. The staff was helpful and courteous. They have a seaside restaurant and a poolside bar, and if you prefer to experience the foods at Forodhani... More

I came as a '' day visitor '' - I caood nnot give a review of the Rooms but the location is great ! The entrance is enchanting as everything in Zanzibar - but the moment you enter the Lobby or '' open hall '' you can see the attitude of everybody : 1. ponds are smelling and dirty but... More

The whole resort just seemed a bit like a large 1980's hotel that hasn't developed any further, and felt very empty and abandoned when we were there. They have tried to create an authentic feeling atmosphere, and the rooms are decorated in this way making them quite unattractive. Overall though, the rooms are clean and have what you need, but... Zanzibar Beach Resort is a hotel I consider the real home away from home-with its serene environment very courteous and caring staff,I have made the resort my home away from home. I stayed five moths from November 2011 to March 2012. In deed I have not regretted staying in this cosy beach resort and above all the food is fantastic.Although... More

Zanzibar seemed to be quite crowded for the 2012-2013 new year's eve. So, for the time we spent on the island, we were forced to stay in two different locations, one of those being Zanzibar Beach Resort. To be very clear from the very beginning: there is half a lie in the resort's name and positioning - Zanzibar Beach Resort... More

At the first look the hotel looks very neat but as soon you look a bit more in depth the problems are starting. The hotel room was not really clean. The fridge was moldy. The bathroom more than ugly. The water taps rusty and fully covered with lime. The water from the tap very salty and not even luke warm.... More

We thought that we were staying in Stone Town, which turned out to be a taxi ride away. The internet did not work in our room. After they sent over the IT guy, told us that the system was down, etc., we finally learned that there was an extra charge if we wanted access from our room. However, it was... More

Our stay at Zanzibar Beach Resort was an agreeable one. The rooms are big and well equipped, and have a balcony with chairs and table. The beds are equipped with mosquito nets and every evening around 9pm, a hotel employee will come and spray mosquito repellent. There is a kettler and instant coffee/tea bags are provided every day. The bathroom... More

Was fortunate to visit this tropical paradise hotel for a conference a few weeks ago. Hotel was in a lovely setting with views of tropical islands and within a cheap taxi ride of Zanazibar town.
