A very centrally located resort in Kata, a dated but well kept residence. Staff were friendly and helpful, aside from check-in staff who were abrupt and unfriendly, more interested in getting my credit card details that offering we friendly "Hello" of "Welcome to Kata Palm" And also didn't bother to provide us with the promised welcome drink or cooling towel. The room was spacious, comfortable and airy with a lovely view of the pools. Breakfast was a basic western buffet style which suited us just fine, the offerings were fresh and palatable. Housekeeping were friendly and efficient also. The bed in the room was huge and very comfortable with a wide variety of pillow choices. Located on the main Kata Road close to many restaurants and markets on a level walk to anywhere one would like to go. The Phuket Smart Bus has a stop outside in both directions and the local bus (Kata to Phuket via Karon for 40 THB) also stopped directly outside. Plus the resort provides a free shuttle to Kata Beach. We thoroughly enjoyed out brief stay at Kata Palm Resort.

The grounds/pools are beautiful and the breakfast was good/most staff were kind so I don’t want this to reflect poorly on them, but it felt like putting “lipstick on a pig” because the rooms themselves are disgusting. I stayed in 2 rooms during my stay. First room: as soon as I walked in after check in, I was hit with an overwhelming smell of mold. I looked in the bathroom and sure enough - mold was in the grout in the tiles, mold around various parts of the shower… the smell was so bad that I actually went to the store and purchased two febreze scent boosters in an attempt to mask the smell. I have traveled extensively and have never had to do that before. There were also slight stains on the sheets hidden under the pillows… but the worst thing? I went out for a 12 hour tour one day and when I came back and turned the lights on, there was a cockroach on the wall!!!! All the lights/power to the room goes out when your room key is not inserted into the slot on the wall, so I guess it was dark long enough for it to crawl out… don’t know where it was hiding, but there are MANY crevices behind the bed and surrounding the walls that more could be hiding in. I slept with the lights on every night for the remainder of my stay in an attempt to keep the cockroaches wherever they stay when it’s light out, which obviously was not comfortable at all. There is also no way it came in from outside, as no one came to clean my room for the entire week I was there despite me leaving my “please make up room” sign on the door for intervals of 3 to 4 hours while I was out, and I always kept the balcony door closed and locked tight. I tried to find another hotel to leave early, but had no luck, and I know that if one room in a hotel has cockroaches and mold - they probably all do, just with some better hidden… so wasn’t even worth it to try and switch rooms. I accepted having to suffer through my time here. A shame really, because the pool is great and I enjoyed spending time outdoors, but I dreaded going back to my room and felt dirty using the shower, and that’s kind of the whole point of a hotel - to have a comfortable room to come back to. If they can’t do that right, it’s not even worth the other amenities, no matter how nice the pool and staff are. Unfortunately, I booked a second room for a 1 night stay to come back at the end of all my travels for the convenience of storing half my luggage between smaller trips, and catching a flight out of Phuket. I booked this before I knew how bad it was and room was non refundable. This room didn’t have a moldy smell despite there being mold in the shower, but the bed had stains galore! One stain on the backside of a pillow was splattered brown and actually hardened/raised so that led me to believe the sheets weren’t even washed before I got the room. Also huge brown/yellow stains right on the front of the blanket on the bed - very visible smack in center so I have no idea why they were okay with leaving a bed like this. I also asked for a late check out since I arrived around 8pm (20:00) for check in and my flight home was the following evening, hoping I could sit in the air conditioning or have the privacy of my own shower if I spent time in the pool the morning of my flight, and they said no, that someone else was checking in the next day. A dumb excuse, as it’s a hotel… of course many people will be coming to check in. They said I could use the pool and the public shower room near the pool after check out though and could use the towels from my room. I was in a pretty standard room, of which there are plenty, so I don’t see why they couldn’t have figured it out to accommodate me staying an hour or two past checkout, as every other hotel does when this request is made - especially since I arrived 6 hours after check in, and they either don’t get around to cleaning the rooms here (if at all) until very late afternoon anyway. Upon checkout, there was at minimum 15 to 20 groups of people at the desk waiting to check out and suitcases everywhere. It was the most disorganized check out process I have ever seen. However this meant there were plenty of rooms now available and they could’ve easily accommodated my late check out request - they just didn’t want to be bothered. They didn’t even wind up getting through the line of people waiting to check out until close to 1pm. It would’ve actually been easier for them if they honored some late check outs… the maid I passed on the way to checkout with my pool towel and bath towel in my hands also gave me a hard time and didn’t want to let me take the towels with me, despite reception telling me I could take towels to the pool and shower. She seemed suspicious of me when I explained why I had them. Like seriously? No one is on the same page in this place… the last thing I want is to steal some half washed towels. Final issue for both rooms is that it is LOUD! You hear every single person walking past your door clear as day. There are also no sign posts telling you which way any important areas are such as pool, lobby, restaurants, cafes. Even the elevator doesn’t show which floor the lobby is on (it’s not level 1) which is pretty standard for elevators to have. There’s just such a clear lack of thought that went into everything here. Overall, I was disappointed and shocked that this hotel was the most expensive of my month long trip around Thailand. It was double the price and half the quality. I will make sure I stay somewhere else in the future unless they do major renovations.

Probably the best resort I ever been in my life. Big and many options for breakfast, Asian and western food and drinks. The pool is amazing, big enough and all surrounded by threes and vegetation. Can see animals too like birds, lizards, and unfortunately mosquitos and flies 😅 The room are spacious, provide everything you need: towels, shampoo, body wash and they are clean. If you book the room at the ground floor you have double access, from the main door and from the balcony, and is so pretty with all colourful fishes. The location is good too, just few hundred metres from beaches, shops and restaurants.

Over all at least it's not overpriced. Rooms are good, bed and pillows are very comfortable, room with a pool access is a good choice. But food 8s disgusting. Breakfast is basic and not tasty. We booked a Christmas dinner. It was awful. Cold and not tasty. Towels are broken.

I have got some mixed feelings about this hotel!! At check-in the reservations team did not inform the FO team of our arrival, first we were thinking a misstake of Booking.com but we found out later that their internal communication has some difficulties. Housekeeping was ok but whenever you require an additional towel for example you really have to put some efforts into it. Hotel surroundings could also be better while we had noticed quite some dirt all over the place, gardeners should also trim the few palm trees while we witnessed at least 3 times that big leaves fell down to other guests (lucky for us) at the pool side. F&B is certainly a department they have to look into while is not corresponding at all when you compare pricing of similar 4 star hotels. We were not looking for fine cuisine while the streetfood in Thailand is known to be very good but some standards were missed all over, bad coffee, bread choices, juice quality...... all could be handled a lot better.

Old dark and dated, ashtrays at the entrance, slow and abrupt checkin, no porter or staff to show us to the room, no cold water in the bathroom, sand in the bed (unchanged sheets from previous guests) mosquito larvae or film in the pool, swim up bar unattended at 2pm, housekeeping were rude and had to be asked twice for anything. 2 nuclear power plants in the room 1. The Fridge 2. The AC. Breakfast was limited and chefs had zero English so ignored us. Plenty of wait staff (in training I assume) We only stayed 2 nights out of 7 as we felt dirty and checked out. It took no less than 15 attempts to receive a response from Management and the simple answer was we booked a ‘non-refundable’ room. Quite disgusting really. Please avoid.

We booked a poolside room and the extra money was definitely worth it. The housekeeping staff are amazing, the room thoroughly clean and you're met with the most welcoming service from the moment you step into this hotel. There's plenty of shopping close to the hotel and lovely places to eat. Highly recommend.

Cannot honestly see how anyone would rate this above a 2 star, maybe pushing a 3. From chaos checkin process, what a disaster. Booked a room with Balcony, needed up with a room like a cruise ship with no balcony only tiny windows. Walking down the hallway to our room was literally like a 1980’s school dorm or a prison, deep blue and depressing. There was mild on the pool lounges, Gardens NOT maintained , even a general clean would be great, pool swim up pool was discussing. Breaky was average at best, not a great area nor inviting. Linen felt like it was 10 years old , not crisp and very well worn. We and another couple we traveled with actually checked OUT after 2 nights without refund and checked into OZO down the road where we were in Love. So yes, it was that bad we had to move . I’ve actually never left a Trip advisor review but I thought I needed to here as it was that bad. Pics tell a small story, even added a hallway pic of the OZO for comparison.

Beautiful as always Kata palms, it was our 3rd time staying at this resort. The resort itself actually makes you feel like you're staying in a tropical Paradise the new rooftop pool is absolutely fabulous doesn't have much shade see I have to pick your time a day to go up there. Breakfast needs to be improved it was lacking this time. The staff are always friendly and will go ABOVE AND BEYOND. Our only problem in Kata is that it has become a little Russia. Too many rude Russians at the resort, it was over ran. Unfortunately they speak so rude to the staff and it did ruin the five nights we had. Only smiling faces at breakfast were the Thai staff.. Pools as always clean and beautiful. We were disappointed that they don't have happy hour any more at the bar and the drinks were super weak so didn't really make it worth buying them at the resort. room service food was hit and miss.

Had the most amazing time staying here for 2weeks in October 2023 The hotel is beautifully decorated in a traditional Thai style and has some lovely rooms with everything you need provided. The staff are all very friendly and always smile and say hello to everyone. During my stay it was my partner’s birthday so I asked the receptionist’Aoomiiz’ if there was anything that they could do to make it special, this was no problem and they arranged for some flowers and a cake to be in our room on the day. The staff at the reception were absolutely amazing and could not have done anything more to make our stay amazing, especially Aoomiiz whose smile when she saw us made our day. Overall I cannot fault anything or anyone during my stay, absolutely beautiful hotel and staff 10 out of 10 and can’t wait to return here again soon
