The place itself looks very nice and the cheaper rooms for MX$120 are built into a big rancho seperated by wooden walls with no ceiling, which makes it more comfortable in terms of the heat on one side, but less private on the other side. They are also very dark and the little window in there doesn't do the job....

Rooms with a private bath are now $570 p rooms with shared bath $200 p. So expensive compared to most but the competition is higher. You can get a tour out of Palenque that will save money to do Yaxchilan (which is a must see bring a flashlight) and avoid staying in Frontera Corazol. If you want to get there...

Stayed here on 10/29/11. Basically hotel options seem to be this or Escuado Jaguar and we stopped here first (without reservation) and scored decent room for 400 pesos ($30 usd). Low season and we were only or among very few people at hotel. Stayed in large cabin-style room near restaurant. Cool large room (2 beds), decent hot water and bathroom....
