We stayed there over christmas for a visit to to Santas Island with the kids, ballyliffin is a beautifull seaside village and a great getaway from the city. We booked a family room and had to get an extra bed supplied to the room, although it did leave the room a bit tight for space We cannot complain as the... more

Ballyliffen hotel…… I wouldn’t recommend it. I stayed here on Sat Dec 19th for one night. We arrived around 6 after a long drive, checked in and went up to our room. On the way we noticed dirty dishes sitting in the hallway to the rooms as well as two dirty nappies sitting on a table on a landing. We... more

We stayed here for a few nights over the 12th July 2009. I thought the hotel looked a bit dreary from the outside but we really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back. The food, which was part of the deal was 5 courses and certainly the best value for money I think we have ever had. Great menu... more

The hotel was clean and the staff where very curteous. Those who needed rooms suitable for wheelchair access were not disappointed. Staff accomodated the group so that those who could not go down steps could sit with friends in the one area. Despite there being such a large number of people in our group the stay was well catered for.... more

Stayed here while attending a wedding in The Ballyliffen Lodge and Spa. The hotel was very quite during this time of the year...almost ghostly. Had to wait for ages for receptionist as the same person was doing everything. The room was small. Bathroom could have been cleaner. The bed was quite small also. Breakfast was fine also. We did not... more

We booked for two nights over Easter and had a great time. The hotel was spotless and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The two nights also included a meal which has to go down as the best value for money, the service was good and the food was great. Its a great location with having the Trasna house... more

I have read the previous reviews of this hotel and all I can say is we did not experience any of what is written by others on this site. We arrived on a Saturday evening, the Lobby, Bar, and Room were warm, comfortable and scrupulously clean. The staff were friendly and courteous, and we felt we were genuinely welcome. At... more

We booked our stay to attend the Santa Village at the Famine Village the children were greatly received the hotel was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean the staff were courteous and friendly and encouraged the children in their play. Unfortunately when we attended in October 2007 the staff were very unconcerned about the children the rooms were freezing the bathroom... more

We arrived at The Ballyliffin Hotel on a Fri Evening. First impressions were not very good. We has to park on waste ground opposite the hotel, as there was a wedding on and the small car park was already full. The Windows of the hotel were dirty and there was empty crisp packets around the entrance. Check in went fine... more
