There is no way to adequately explain the experience of attending a Hollyhock weekend/conference/retreat/gathering/party. Their packages are well worth the all-in costs. There is no classifying such a force as Hollyhock is. The facility is amazing - from its garden, to its conference buildings, to its view, its beach, its everything. The level of service is perfect - enough to... More

After hearing about it for many years from friends who had been raving about it, this year I decided to attend Social Venture Institute at Hollyhock. What a unique, special place. While it takes a while to get there (2+ ferries, or a sea plane), it was totally worth the journey. I can't say enough good things about my experience.... More

Was at Hollyhock for Web of Change 2012 - I can't remember when I have enjoyed myself as much. Just the trip alone to Cortes Island is an adventure, and Hollyhock rocked my world. Great people, great place, great location, and full of love. No kidding. Don't miss it.

I spent 5 luscious days at Hollyhock for a Restorative getaway, my second visit. I don't know how it could have been better. Knee-buckling scenery; plentiful, mouthwatering vegetarian cuisine (loved it so much I bought the cook book); an EPIC bio-luminescence kayak tour in the dark, led by a biologist, under a Milkyway-lit sky (!); fun, easy-going, new-found-friends; expert massages;... Hollyhock has an extraordinary location at the edge of wilderness on the southeast corner of Cortes Island. While we've been several times for conferences, it's the stunning location that keeps bringing us back. It's gorgeous grounds seem harmoniously in-tune with the nature that surrounds them, whether it's the tall cedar trees outside your room or the deer that linger under... More

We spent a week at Hollyhock in the beach front room and it was sheer magic. We are home now and suffering Hollyhock withdrawal -- how will we live without the bodywork, and writing under the apple tree in the garden, and waking to the sound of waves? And the food! I have just come through a medical crisis and... More

I was at Hollyhock for one glorious week of walks on the beach and through the old, magical forest. The vegetarian food was very well done and imaginative. The body workers were amazing. When you want to breathe new life into your life, try Hollyhock. It's an adventure getting there too!

Hollyhock is a gorgeous site managed and maintained by people who clearly care about the earth and their guests. It's hard to imagine anyone having a bad day here. The food is delicious and plentiful without being decadent. It's made there from organic & local as much as possible, mostly vegetarian with egg, dairy and local seafood options. Many meals... More

Hollyhock recently had a special where you could bring a friend, I wished I had taken a friend with me when I went in October 2011. The precious time to learn, explore and rejuvenate was a sound investment. The hot-tubs at night and the schedule which offered meditation, yoga and exploration were skillfully crafted and integrated group learning and self... More
