Great place, the back wall of our rooms was just huge boulders which we loved. Food was good and you can sit on the beach and have it. 30 minutes walk into town were there's a great local market. Not too many people around but think its rebounding from covid. Would stay again.

Sitting less than 2 metres from the lakeshore we both had freshly caught tilapia caught that day. It was delicious eaten African style(fingers only). The water lapping the shore, fishermen casting nets and birds flying in the dark.

Coming from the Serengeti, on our way to Kenya, we camped at Matvilla Beach Lodge for 2 nights. Located on a small peninsula out of town it is really a lovely place. The small campsite, tucked in between rocks ,right on the lake is cozy and private. Clean bathrooms and nice hot showers. WiFi was available in the Restaurant. We pre-ordered our dinners - fresh fish from the lake - it was delicious. George, the manager organised us 2 "Bajaji" Tuck-Tucks to go to Musoma for some shopping. He came along and took us to the market, showed us the hardware- and other small shops. We really had an interesting and fun-filled morning in Musoma. Thanks to George and his friendly staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The staff here make this hotel. They are really trying to get it going. When we arrived we were served drinks and delicious peanuts in a little hut right on the edge of Lake Victoria. The rooms are charming; dear little bandas placed amongst the rocks like so many pixie houses. They are basic but sweet. The food is unusual but fine; my egg salad turned out to be a curry omelette!

The hotel is on a big property with a pleasant beach off to the back side. It is especially popular with locals for drinks and food. Rooms are in little stone rondavels and are okay by African standards. With a little effort they could be a lot more charming. Food is tasty. If you don't preorder you're in for quite a wait. Staff is attentive and helpful. Wifi was good too. Overall we had a nice stay.

This hotel sits just out of the town on a small peninsula. It is in a beautiful location on Lake Victoria. The rooms are made up of a number of stone 'huts'. Quite quaint and unusual. I have eaten there before and the food is reasonable although breakfast could have been better. Staff were attentive. Over I enjoyed the experience.

We stayed here for one night with 5 people in 3 little "huts" for about 130.000 tshs total. There's definitely room for improvement, for instance the shower in one room (one of those direct heater elements) had burned wiring and wasn't working. We've come to expect this lack of maintenance from affordable Tanzanian lodges/hotels, so we weren't surprised. It has a great view on the lake though, with a little beach and palm trees to complete the image. Breakfast was included and acceptable, prices for drinks were good too. In walking distance of Musoma center, where we spend most of the afternoon.

This hotel deserves a good mention. Hidden on the shore of lake Victoria in Musoma, it has fantastic rooms, small beach very tranquil for family and individual guests. I stayed here for three days and enjoys every moment!

I would have given this place a rating of at least 4 if it wasn't for the night club next door...! The noise from the open air night club just drove me insane! The hotel staff were extremely helpful and we went together all around the hotel trying to find a more quiet room, but the noise was everywhere. I was told it is only during weekends, that during week there is no problem, but I only stayed there one Friday night so I can't comment on that. The noise continued until 2am, after that the place was ok - the street noise in the morning was bearable.
