Of our five campsites so far on our western trip, this one is, by far, my favorite. The backdrop of the Badlands National Park sets the perfect stage. The rustic feel of the campground itself is ideal for people who really want a genuine camping experience. Our site looked right into the mountains, and the boys were able to wake... More

We reserved our site over the phone and when we got there someone else was in the spot. We went to the reservation desk at the lodge and she said she was sorry and tried to help us find another spot in the campground. Of the 3 sites she gave us 2 of them were also taken. They have know... More

My husband and I stayed at this campground no 30 for one night. The campground was quite, peaceful, loads of birds chirping around. The campsite is close to one of the restroom which wasn't so crowded hence he accessibility was easy. Remember to take quarters if you plan on using the showers. it was beatiful to watch the sunset from... More

We spent 1 night here and unexpectedly were surprised at what a lovely camping experience we had. Location is great -just at the base of The Castle. A minute to Visitor Center and Lodge. 2 Miles out of park had gas and small grocery store. There are about 16 electric sites and a dump station for RV. Although spots are... More

We liked this campground. It is very simple but a nice campground for a visit to The Badlands. Advice - the national park service website says you cannot make reservations here but if you google Cedar Park Lodge, you can make reservations at this campground through that website. We stayed here in May and so the weather was ideal. If... More

My friend and I stayed at this campground during our road trip to South Dakota last year. We had driven 8 hours to reach the Badlands, the first stop on our trip, and arrived at the park just before sunset. The scenery was amazing! So much so, that we are doing another road trip this summer and have decided that... More

We drove our RV in early Sat morning; the Sun was still ascending, casting its early rays over the vast expanse of the Badlands in majestic splendor. It was very chilly (46 degrees F or so), but the temp climbed quickly as the Sun rose higher in the sky. Temp went up about 20 degrees in a couple of hours.... More

Hello travelers! Cedar Pass campground was everything our group needed. Flush toilets and running sinks, electricity outlets, and drinking water. The view of the mountain peaks, and the amazing cloud systems above, was the cherry on top of this clean, well developed camp ground. Be sure to check out notch trail. It is a little challenging, but the sights on... More

The campground is simple, flush toilets, no showers, shared water spicket. We tent camped, there are only a few trees, the ranger was great and pointed us to a site with shade. The best part was the night sky, the stars were amazing! Worth a nights stay to explore the park and sky!

We stayed for one night in mid June 2012. Poor reviews of this campground in travel guides and the heat of this summer had us very unsure about this campground, but we really enjoyed our stay! The campground is large and first come, first serve. I don't think it fills often, but it was close to full the night we... More
