well, it's always a good idea to stay in-the-park when you visit grand canyon. Maswik lodge is one of the cheapest option, but still really nice place to stay. They have dining options in walking distance. You can take park shuttle and visit all points of interest in the national park.

Comfortable accommodations. Friendly staff. Deer in the parking lot. Just a nice place to stay before our 4 day/3 night hike to the Colorado River via South Kaibab trail and out on the Bright Angel trail.
