Traveling with 6 other photographers we found SSCL to be fantastic. The opportunity to get so close to the bears and still feel completely safe was fantastic. Dave our guide also being a photographer new how to position us for the best light. Our experience was beyond our expectation. The friendly staff & great cooks topped it off. We also... More

Late in August I had the privilege of visiting Anchorage, Alaska, truly the last frontier in the U.S.A. The purpose of my visit was the photograph the great Brown Bears in Alaska's Lake Clark National Park, and to fish for Salmon. Mt group took small single engine planes and we landed on the beach at Lake Clark National Park. We... More

The lodge owners could not be nicer. David and Joanne make sure you have everything you need. The meals are excellent. Lodging good and the staff is great. We were able to see bears regularly - even occasionally in the camp. An excellent place to photograph bears.

I completely echo everything highlighted in the existing reviews. This lodge, the owners, the guides and the entire staff are just outstanding. The bear and fishing guides are so knowledgeable! Everyone one at the lodge was friendly and accomodated any requests, such as "no seafood" at meals. I would absolutely recommend this destination to anyone interested in wildlife viewing and... More

What an Adventure! We stayed at SSCL for 3 days in July and had a great experience. We arrived around 10:30 and by 11:00 we were out on the beach with around 10 bears. Most were digging for clams. At first we felt a uneasy with an 800 lb bear about 75 feet away, but we soon became very comfortable... More

We did a lot of research prior to choosing Silver Salmon Creek Lodge. We were torn between SSCL and Brooks Lodge since they are different bear viewing experiences. David, the owner, was very helpful from our first email and it became clear to us that SSCL was more of the adventure we were looking for. We were excited to experience... More

If you are looking for the quintessential Alaskan lodge and nature experience, this is your place. Our stay at SSCL was August 18-20, 2012. The accomodations were very clean, comfortable and "lodgelike". We stayed in the Puffin Perch cabin, which was spacious and well appointed. The central lodge building is kept cozy by a big wood burning stove and has... More

We had three days at SSCL with David, Joanne and their superb team of guides & support team, and the experience exceeded our expectations. When we were researching bear viewing opportunities in Alaska SSCL came across as being the best for photography and having a high standard. This also comes with what appears to be a high price tag as... More

I traveled to Silver Salmon Creek Lodge in August 2012 as part of a coastal brown bear and puffin photo tour with professional photographer Ron Niebrugge. The lodge and cabins were great! I shared the Coho cabin with two other people (two sisters) on our trip and I had my own room and they shared the other bedroom. We shared... More

This incredible experience started with Natron Air flying us over Cook Inlet and landing on the beach at Silver Salmon Creek Lodge...just amazing and the softest of landings!! Tim is great! We were shuttled to the lodge on the back of an ATV...just awesome...where we were warmly greeted by owners, David and Joann... Our guide, Dave, got us right out... More
