We stayed at this campground for two weeks. The people running it and the hosts were all very nice and helpful. The bathrooms were always clean and the new showers were nice. The old ones were fine too, just typical, but always clean. Some of the sites are better than others. We had a great site for our two tents... More

I stayed here a number of years ago and it was a really great campground so we booked it for the long labor day weekend. The site we had was A51. It backed up to the forest and we put the tent up in the back of the site near the woods. Most of all the other sites are right... More

We reserved a spot at this campground for Labor Day weekend as we wanted to be close to RMNP and be sure that we were confirmed a spot. I did not really know what we were reserving until arrival. The campsites were so close together - you had absolutely no privacy and tents and RVs were just on top of... More

Don't stay at East Portal. I decided to reserve 2 sites (55 and 62) based on the reviews and because they had flush toilets and showers for the girls. We stopped by the night prior to our stay to check out the campground and found the sites on top of each other, not flat for tents, and too close for... More

Let me preface with, I am not a camper. Not a fan of camping at all. I married a camper. We have friends who have a pop up that we borrow and I can handle camping. My husband HATES RV grounds where it's basically a parking lot so it's hard to find a middle ground for us. I require running... More

We reserved and stayed in A1 based on other reviews. Great. Spot, everything is WAY smaller and closer together then what the map shows, and even other pictures. Even though the spots were so close together, there was still privacy, and very quiet after 9:00. A1 is under some very big pines, but the squirrels decided to chew off and... More

This campground is great! The campground is at the end of a road, so there are limited road noises. The restrooms and showers are standard - not super clean, but fine as long you as wear flip-flops in the shower. The campground hosts were friendly. We were in tent site #69 - not a great site, although we booked late... More

We visited Estes Park East Portal Campground in late May 2012. We had a nice, very shady site (#A01) which was very roomy although it was sort of a split level. Our site and water and electric hookups. Although we were tent camping, we wanted to be able to plug in a heater for the chilly nights. The shower houses/restrooms... More

Nice, clean, and affordable campground. We tent camped with no hookups. Bathhouse was clean and I never had to wait. Showers weren't tiny like some. Sites were close together, but the campground was in a wooded area so you didn't feel on top of each other. Sites weren't any closer than most state park campgrounds. Overall, we loved our visit,... My family of four stayed at this campsite June 26th-29th and had a great time! The restrooms were very clean and had hot showers. The staff is super friendly and informative and overall we had a great time! Elk and deer came up to our campsite in the morning and our kids had a great time even though there was... More
