Spent 2 nights car camping at the Watchman campground. We had adjoining sites D29 and D31 on the outside ring of loop D. Great sites, with some privacy. Not for crowds of young people who want to make noise (this is Utah). Campsite is fairly quite with lots of families and large groups that are early to bed and early to rise. No showers but wash rooms are clean and soap and hand dryers are available.

Watchman Campground is conveniently located near Springdale and Zion Canyon. On top of that, the view from the campground is great. However, the sites are far from secluded and are arranged in a fairly compact manner. Noise from other sites is ever present. Overall, I would recommend this campground as a base camp for exploring Zion.

i caen in at dark worried that maybe I would be out of luck but even with only two loops open I had the run of the place. Spectacular place to wake up to. I picked a campsite away from the river with a clear view of the sky for my telescope. Súper.
