Nothing really to write home about. Hotel is average, staff are polite, towels and decor have seen better days, but had a good night's sleep and the breakfast was filling. Dinner was ok, laughed at the breadrolls brought out, they looked like school dinner style breadrolls. The reason we chose it was for its location, and for the proximity to... More

Oh dear. Needing to book a hotel or B&B at short notice for my wife and I and finding everywhere I tried fully booked, a colleague recommended Maes Manor. We stayed at the Novotel in Cardiff last week. The hotels could not be more different. Where the Novotel was new, clean, fresh, large modern room, quality fittings, great service, good... More

Over the past few years we have seen a number of different acts performing at this hotel. By far and away our favourite has been Big Mac's Wholly Soul Band. If you like Tamla, Mo'town or Stax soul, then this is normally the band for you. However, last weekend we went to see them and were bitterly disappointed. They were... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with such valuable feedback. The band that evening was booked in good faith by the hotel as we have received but only excellent feedback year on year. I am disappointed that you had not enjoyed the performance that evening. The band were to perform two 45 minute slots with... More

After reading some very negative reviews on this hotel, i was beginning to wish that we had nt booked our daughters wedding there. However we were absolutely delighted with how the day went. From start to finish everything ran according to plan, the ballroom looked beautiful for the ceremony. and was equally as beautiful for the wedding breakfast. The food... More

Visited for a Mother's day meal on a Saturday evening and experienced a very disappointing evening. We informed the venue at the time of booking (some 2 weeks previous) that one of the party was gluten intolerant and would the restaurant be able to cater for her needs. We were informed that it shouldn't be a problem and that a... More

Having just returned from our weekend long stay here at The Maes Manor. We stayed in the Bridal suite. Discounted as The ball had taken over the whole hotel for the weekend. On first view the room was really nice. Bathroom, contained a bath, shower and built in tv, so you could watch it while having a lazy soak. Our... More

Great views across the valley and set in well maintained grounds. However, the rooms were very small. My room had a lighting fault so i was given the Executive Suite for the week instead, no extra cost (good customer service!). This suite is worth £180/night but there were issues with it (1) no glass or water provided in room, only... More

All good except the room. Pokey and creaky doors and floor noises from other rooms. I was also stuck next to the very noisy boiler room. Wifi not working. Good food and nice location though. Don't Stay here if there is a wedding going on

I booked the restaurant for my Dad's 90th birthday and it was handled really well. I had to arrange this by phone as I live 130 miles away from the hotel, but that was not a problem. I came by this hotel by accident on a last minute deal, as I only wanted a room for one night.
